Keeping it Clean Mixed Media

I'm just popping in with a card I had fun making, using some of the stamped images from our Bright Craft Retreat. I loved the penguin stamps from MFT and found a place for one of them in this card.

I've used a various media to create this card - copic markers on the penguin, Zig CCRB markers on the tree, distress markers on the drink and Brushos for the background! Yep, I had fun making this one!

I'm entering this card in the Happy Little Stampers Mixed Media Challenge - the theme is *WATER*.

Mixed Media Card Challenge Reminder

Hey there. I'm popping in today with another card for the Mixed Media Card Challenge.
The theme this month is *TREES* and the optional element is *BIRDS*.

I stamped the bird image from WPlus9 twice, once on to patterned paper and then on to watercolour paper. I used distress markers and Zig CCRB markers to colour the images. I also touched up the flowers on the patterned paper to make the colours complimentary. Then I stamped the branch above the bird and another branch image from Penny Black. To finish I added the stitching, splatters and sequins.

There is more inspiration on the Mixed Media Card Challenge Blog and you have until 25March to enter the challenge.

Bear Hugz

I'm back with another card for the CAS Mix It Up challenge.

On the last day of the Craft Retreat I recently attended, I had a bit of a stamping frenzy - trying to get as many of the cute images belonging to my crafty friends!  Now I'm trying to use them on cards. I just love these bears from Mama Elephant and the background is a new stamp from Clearly Besotted (thanks Jenny Dix for enabling me to buy it!).

I stamped the birch trees with Hero Arts ink and the bears were stamped on watercolour paper and coloured with Zig CCRB markers.

I'm also entering this in the Craft Stamper Take it, Make it Challenge - anything goes with stamping.

New Challenge

Hi there! This is a very quick post, because I should be cooking dinner!

Have you heard about the new fun challenge CAS Mix It Up? It is the brainchild of Loll and Bonnie.
It's all about my favourite style of cardmaking - CAS (Clean and Simple) and Mixed Media. If you're confused, check out the guidelines here.

Here is my card ...

My card only just scrapes in to this months theme, because I used a stencil for the background, a watercolour wash on the feathers and a stamped sentiment. I was going to stamp some text over the stencil, but decided it would be too busy.
I wash really happy I managed to match the colours of the sponged background (distress inks) with the watercolour paints on the feathers.

ETA: I am also entering this card in A Blog Named Hero Challenge  - the theme is *RAINBOW* and the Inkspirational Challenge - the theme is *GEOMETRIC* (I hope my background fits the theme).

Mixed Media Card Challenge (March)

Well hello lovelies! I'm so happy it's March and we are coming to the end of a long hot summer and hopefully welcoming a lovely Autumn. Mind you it's an extremely sultry 36 degrees celcius at 5.30 pm in the evening, so Summer is still hanging in there.

The theme this month at the Mixed Media Card challenge is *TREES* and the optional element is *BIRDS*.

I've used Distress markers, Zig CCB Markers, Distress inks and Wink of Stellar.
I used a couple of stencils and 3 stamps.
I nearly gave on this card, because I originally just sponged the background with distress ink, but it looked really flat.
Then I decided to go over it with a stencil and stamped some text  and it really gave the whole thing a lift. The bird is from Penny Black and the sentiment is from STAMPlorations.

The Mixed Media Card Challenge  is open until 25 March and you can see lots of inspiration over on the blog. You can enter the challenge here.
