Botanical Notes

A quick post, before making dinner. I have made this card specifically for the CAS Watercolour Challenge.
The theme for the 2nd challenge is TEXT, so I pulled out one of my fave Penny Black stamps.

I had several attempts. My first go was with watercolour paper, but I prefer the more detailed image you get on the smooth card stock, so I had to be careful not use too much water. I used Zig CCRB markers, scribbling on a glass mat and then using a slightly wet brush, applied the colour to the image.

I had a very CAS card, but decided I had to add a bit (or a lot) of splatter.  I just realised I've used the same old colours as I've used for this image before, so it may look similar to an earlier card. Nevermind. I hope you like it.

  1. It's a beautiful combination of colours Jenny. Love this PB stamp with the collage of images and script. The splatters are a lovely finishing touch. Thanks for sharing this with us at CAS Watercolour! xx

  2. What a beautifully coloured card Jenny. Fabulous stamp and such lovely colour choices too. Nice touch with the splotches to finish.

  3. You have done an awesome job of coloring this, Jenny! Wonderful colors and I know what a challenge is to watercolor on cardstock! Good job! Thanks so much for sharing this with us at CAS Watercolour!

  4. Oh Jenny this is beautiful - love the text you have added in there :-)

  5. Lovely colours and great shading - a perfect stamp for our challenge! Thanks for joining us at CAS Watercolour!
