Flamingo Heart

Another quick card for The Ton's Feb challenge with 'Heart' theme. This has been sitting on my desk unfinished for a week, so I thought I should follow through on my NY resolution ( to finish projects) and complete it!

Stamped with Altenew Inks, Distress Inks and Zig Markers. Distress ink sponged background.
So I'm entering my card in the following challenge.

Dry Embossed Postcard (One Layer Card)

I thought I'd play along with the Less is More Challenge this week. The challenge is to include some dry embossing.

The cute bird stamp is called 'Ode to Christmas' from Penny Black  and the sentiment is from Stamplorations.
The embossing folder was from a discount craft shop.

Squirrel Graffiti

Here's another cute little stamp I got from the UK. I love squirrels and wish we had them in Australia.

I thought this would be a good masculine Valentine card for next year.

The Squirrel stamp is from Carabelle and the brick background is a Kaisercraft stamp. I used Distress ink and Zig markers on the brick.  The graffiti was stamped with old alphabet stamps and the 4 is wood. The acorn is from my stash and I think it could be a MFT stamp.

You Gnome me So Well

Hi there. I'm popping in with a quick post to share a card I made using stamps I just received from the UK.

I'm not sure where I saw this stamp set, but it's from a company called Apple Blossom and I purchased it through Craft Stash. It's called 'Christmas Gnome', so expect to see lots of these cuties next Christmas. I coloured with Copic Markers.

Watercolour CAS Grunge

I decided to make a card for both SSS challenges. The Simon Monday Challenge theme is 'Grunge it Up' and the Simon Wednesday Challenge is 'Make your own Background'. I made a watercolour background with lots of splashes and ten stamped the graffiti tex and splotches. I am going to call this CAS Grunge! What do you think?

The stamps are from STAMPlorations and I used Distress Inks for the background.

White Magnolia Love

I've almost lost count of the number of Magnolia stamps I own, but there's just something special about these flowers. So of course, I had to have The Ton Stamp's 'Magnificent Magnolias' stamp set. I previously made a card in purple/pink tones but this time I wanted to practise a colouring white flower using Copic Markers.

So not much more to say. I coloured with Copics, fussy cut and backed with the hand cut heart. The sentiment is from WPlus9.

True Love Shaker

Hi there. Usually I steer clear of Valentine cards and 'Love' cards.  We like to show our love in other ways in our household.  However, I seem to have accumulated lots of heart related products, so what's a girl to do!

This one is a watercolour and shaker card.
I used acrylic inks and water and a bit of smooshing to create the background. The stamps are from Papertrey Ink.

Whenever I make a shaker card, I think of my friend Jenny Dix of Jennifer D's Blog - she is the queen of shakers and encouraged me to keep on trying, when I was ready to give up on shakers.  Check out this amazing card Jenny made.

I was very tempted to add more to this card, but I'm trying to create more CAS cards and so I made myself stop! What do you think? Maybe a bit of black twine or ribbon?

Another Twofer and a Wedding Card

Last weekend I attended the wedding of my gorgeous Niece, who is also my God Daughter.
It was in the most beautiful setting, Red Hill Estate Winery and of course she was absolutely stunning. I decided to make a card inspired by the colours of her Wedding Party.

I have used Stamplorations 'Vignette Happy Ever After' and dies from Concord & 9th and Mama Elephant.

Next I made a contrasting card using the same Concord & 9th 'Layers of Love' die. The sentiment and DP
 are from Kaisercraft.

Penny Black Saturday Challenge - Reminder

It's time to give you more inspiration for the current Penny Black Saturday Challenge, where the theme is:

'Anything Goes'
with an optional twist to 'use some scraps'.

I used one of my favourite dies from Penny Black -  the 'Iris'. The scraps are from Kaisercraft 'Hanami Garden' Paper Pad along with a spare bow that's been sitting on my desk for a few weeks.
I've realised I don't have many Penny Black sentiment stamps and I had to cut up a sentiment from the aptly named 'Sentimental' stamp set to fit my design. The butterflies are made from tiny heart dies, using MFT Stitched Heart Grid die.

I hope you have the opportunity to join in this month's challenge and check out the rest of the inspiration from out Design Team here.

As always the usual RULES apply, please make sure that the MAIN FOCUS OF YOUR PROJECT is one of the following: PENNY BLACK IMAGE, PENNY BLACK LARGE SENTIMENT, PENNY BLACK  DIE OR PENNY BLACK STICKEROO.
New work only please and link back to the Penny Black Saturday Challenge in your blog post. You may enter our challenge as many times as you like, and there is no limit on how many challenges you may combine with ours.

The challenge will close at 8pm (GMT) on Friday 2nd March.

The prize for this challenge is provided by our generous sponsor:

Prize - $20 voucher!
Since I had more hearts leftover, I decided to make another fun card to go with some flowers for my daughter, who arrived back from her 1st solo overseas trip.
The paper is from the same Kaisercraft pad, the house die is from Sizzix, the hearts from MFT (as above) and the sentiment from Winnie & Walter.

Soft Wings

I've been in clean up mode for the last couple of days, but decided to sneak in a quick card, because the theme at CASology is 'Butterfly' and anyone who knows me, will be aware of my love of these beautiful creatures.
Edited: I had to drive my son to cricket and just missed the deadline:(  Never mind, at least I had fun making this card!

The butterfly stamp is Penny Black's 'Soft Wings' and the sentiment stamps are from Pretty Posh Pink and WPlus9.
I used Zig Markers directly on to the stamp and spritzed lightly. The sentiment is silver embossed.

Butterflies and Hearts

I am very excited today, because I'm going to my Niece's wedding. She is also my God Daughter and is beautiful inside and out, just like the sentiment on the card I made a few days ago.

So this is a quick post to share I card I made for a few challenges.

I stamped the butterflies on a piece of Canvas Card and then coloured with Zig Markers.
I blended with a slightly wet brush and spritzed. It's best to use a heat gun to dry this as this medium will not soak in very well. Be careful as too much heat can damage the card. I used white gel pen for the highlights. Then sentiment was stamped with Versafine Black ink and clear embossed. I then die cut the heart and mounted with dimension tape.
