Making My Own Background

Hi there. I decided to make another card for the Inkspirational Challenge, where the theme is 'Use Small stamps'. This time I used the small stamps to make a whimsical patterned background.

The stamp set is Whimsical Winter from Mama Elephant. I would have loved to include the owl and fox, but they were a bit big.  I used non traditional colours, but my daughter asked if I was making a Christmas Card, so I decided to use a christmas sentiment. You may not be able to tell, but the backing card is a dark green, not black, which I chose to fit the forest theme to my card.

Oh My Stars it's a Bear!

I'm popping in with a quick post to share I card I made for this week's CASology Card challenge. The cue word is 'BEAR and I had a difficult choice, as to which of my bear stamps to use! So you might see some more bear themed cards very soon!

These particular bears are from Mama Elephant - I just love them! The window die is from MFT and the moon and stars come from the same set as the bears  - Bear Hugs. The watercolour background was made with Brushos and the images were coloured with Zig Markers.

Casing Shirley

One of my favourite Stamp companies is STAMPlorations.  This month they are turning 5 and they have been celebrating all month. There are loads of prizes to be won and you don't even need to have any of their stamps to have a chance to win! So you should head over to their blog and check out all the amazing inspiration.

They have a fabulous challenge where we get to CASE any of the designer's cards. I have chosen to case on of Shirley Bampton's cards, cause I love a bit of smooshing!!!

I used Brushos and Distress Inks for the Smooshing and Distress inks for the cup cake.

More Trees

I have another pair of cards for the Twofer Card Challenge, this time of used Stamploration stamps.

The stamp set is STAMPlorations Vignette:Tree Silhouettes. For this card I used Zig markers to create a faux watercolour effect.

In this card, I masked the card and sponged Distress Oxides and then spritzed with water. When it was dry, I stamped the trees and sentiment and added the die cut bird.

Tiny Stamps

Here is a quick card I made for the Inkspirational Challenge. The theme is to use small stamps and I immediately thought of these little critters from Flora and Fauna.

It's a very CAS card as you can see. I stamped the pebbles twice, masked the bottom of the card and stamped the foliage. Then I stamped the critters, tag and sentiment, adding colour with zig markers.

Penny Black Trees

Hello there. I finally got around to making a second card for the Twofer Card challenge! I made the first card a couple of weeks ago, when I was at our beach house and the sun was shining. Today it is overcast and cold, so I made a wintery themed card.

The first card is supposed to evoke an Australian Summer sunset and the second card is a Snowy scene from my memories of Christmas Scotland. I went for a walk one morning and saw the sunrise - it was just magical!
In case you are wondering I have used the same stamp for the tree on the right side of each card.

I used PB 'Peaceful Moment' for this card and the tree on the right is from PB 'Dressed in Snow'
The first stamp is quite narrow, so I extended the fence line using a black marker. The background was made with a combo of Distress inks and Peerless watercolours.

This time I stamped the PB 'Dressed in Snow' using Distress Inks and Zig Markers and then I clear embossed a couple of times to get a glossy 'pop' and texture. The sentiment, rabbit and squirrel are from Papertrey Ink and the deer is a die cut from Impression Obsessions. I masked and sponged the background  with Distress Oxides and then sprayed liberally for a watercolour effect.

Bright and Cheerful

This time I'm sharing a card I made last week at my beach house, when I had lot's of crafty time.

I did a bit of smooshing with Distress Inks and then stamped and 'fussy cut' the birds. Then I stamped the birds again on the base card and mounted the cut out bits with foam tape.  I added some splatter, sentiments and mounted on the black card.
The bird are Dina Wakely stamps and the sentiment is from Altenew.

Jump Start!

This is my second card for this week's CASology Challenge. The theme is *JUMPY* and my first card was a lot more literal(kangaroos), where as this card has a more lateral meaning...

The coffee cup stamp is from Stamplorations and I used various scraps of paper and card to paper piece it.
The sentiment is from Winnie & Walter.

Here is my second card inspired by the photo for the Altenew June Challenge.

I've had this stamp set for ages, but I think it's the first time I've used it. I'm really happy with the way it worked out. I used Zig Markers again. The stamp set is Brush Art Floral and the sentiment die is from Lawnfawn.

Striped Florals

Whilst I was away, I made a couple of cards inspired by the Altenew Challenge.

Well I probably went a bit brighter purple than the pic, but I was going by memory. The tulip stamps are from Altenew Striped Floral set and the sentiment is from Altenew Thinking of You set. It was coloured with Zig Markers and blended with clear Wink of Stellar.
