Multi Layer Embossing

I've just returned from a lovely few days at our beach house, where I went for walks and crafted to my heart's content. The mojo wasn't always co-operative, but it was very relaxing none the less. I was joined by the lovely Lyndal for a couple of days, so I had company while I crafted:)

Here is a card I made for the CASology challenge, inspired by the CAS Mix Up Challenge.

I coloured the die cut with Zig Markers (Flesh Colour & Blue Grey) and Distress Inks (Hickory Smoke) and embossed with 'Silver Pearl' embossing powder and then again with 'Metallic Pewter' on the edges.  The shell die cut is from Kaisercraft and the border die and sentiment are from Stamplorations.
These are 2 of my favourite embossing powders, so it was fun to mix them together.

Penny Black Masculine Card

I'm back with a reminder for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge. There's still plenty of time to join in.  The theme is always Anything Goes, and there's an optional twist to make it a Masculine card.

I used one of my new (to me) stamps - skyline. I'm sure I'll use this stamp a lot, as it's very versatile.

I stamped it twice - the first time in a very light blue and the second time a very dark blue.  I added a lot of water for the light blue, so that it would be more of a shadow, or perhaps give a foggy look to the scene. Then I added a strip of  contrasting paper and layered the die cut sentiment. It's almost a One Layer card!

Craft Stamper Winner Profile

I'm super excited today to be featured on the Craft Stamper Blog, as part of my prize for winning last month's challenge with this card.

I'm so happy in fact, I'm doing a happy dance...

I made a watercolour wash with Peerless watercolours and then stamped the blooms. Then I coloured in the flowers with white paint pen and stamped over them again. The stamps are from MFT.

Cock-a-doodle-doo

The theme this week at CASology is 'FARM' and I thought of a rooster...

The rooster is a free download image from The Graphic Fairy and transferred to canvas, then 'fussy cut' and inked on the edges with Antique Linen ink.
I embossed the background panel and then painted the yellow sunbeams. The sentiment is from STAMPlorations.

The stamp is from Altenew and was coloured with Daniel Smith watercolours on Arches paper.

Autumn Leaf

This is the other card I made for the CAS Mix Up challenge. I've been very inspired by all the beautiful Autumn colours in out streets, so I decided to make a leaf with lots of jewel colours.

I stamped the Japanese poem background and gold embossed. This is an old Hero Arts stamp. Then I added some splatter with distress inks. I covered the chipboard leaf with distress ink and embossed with Opals thick embossing powder. Whilst it was still warm I sprinkled some glitter and rubbed in some gold leaf and other coloured foil. Then I covered with some Versamark ink and repeated the heat embossing until it was all smooth and glossy. I die cut the SSS sentiment from glitter paper.

I've made a couple more cards for the CAS Mix Up Challenge, because once I start playing with a technique, one card is never enough!

The Beautiful Rose die is from Penny Black. To begin I coloured it with Copic Markers and then clear embossed it a couple of times with thick embossing powder. Next I used a versamark embossing pen on selected parts of the rose and embossed again using the PINK and Green embossing powders, blending a little bit where they met. The gorgeous sentiment is an oldie from Just Right and I added a bit of gold foil for bling!
