PENNY BLACK SATURDAY CHALLENGE REMINDER APR'23

 It's the thirdSaturday of the month, so I'm here to remind you about this month's  Penny Black Saturday Challenge! 

Our theme is always Anything Goes or if you prefer the optional twist is to make a 'FUNNY' card.

I remembered I had some sentiment stamps that are quite funny, so I made 2 masculine cards ...

I used a Penny Black 'Enlightened' Background Stamp  and PB 'Birthday Love' for this card and various shades of green ink. 

This time I used patterned paper and a stamped background from my stash and a sentiment from the same set as above.

Time Out Challenge #236 World Book Day

 Welcome back Crafty Friends. It's time for a new Time Out Challenge and this week we are celebrating World Book Day. 

My card utilises a stamp set I was gifted by my friend Jenny, who was de-stashing. This seems like the perfect time to use it!

I used paper from Kaisercraft and Uniquely Creative 'Read Past your Bed-time' to create this cozy paper-pieced scene. 

This winner of our challenge will win a $25 credit from our generous sponsor - Newton's Nook and will also have the chance to be Guest Designer in a future challenge.

The Card Concept #193A/B New Arrival or Busy Bee

 Hi there Crafty Friends! It's time for the second challenge challenge of the month at The Card Concept,  which means we post 2 photos and you can choose which photo you prefer, or you could create two separate cards, one for each photo! 

I love both photos, but I've made his and hers baby cards as I will be needing them soon. 

I used a discontinued stamp set from Uniquely Creative for both cards. I also used old stash of patterned paper and chipboard letters. 

I used a beautiful Embossing Folder from Spellbinders for this card

I was inspired by the cute animals to create Clean & Layered Cards

Remember, an inspiration photo is exactly that- a starting point for inspiration. Will it be the colours, the overall theme, the texture, the actual items and/or something else that will inspire your card?

Colour Brief - Kraft & Peach (and white)

 Hi there Crafty Friends.  I was inspired to play along with Color Hues Challenge, because I felt it really was a challenge to get this combination just right. I decided to avoid black to make the card softer. I tried several versions and this was my favourite result...

I haven't used this stamp for ages! I stamped the image 3 times - Antique Linen and brown sugar embossing powder on white, white on Kraft card and White on patterned (peach) paper. I did a bit of fussy cutting and layered the 3 stamped images on a Kraft card base. To finish I stamped the sentiment and splattered some peach Gouache.

Happy Easter

 Happy Easter to all my Crafty Friends! I started  this card last year, but just put it together and added a sentiment today.

I'm sorry I forgot to record the name of the bunny stamp, which belongs to a friend. The sentiment is from Art Impressions.

Easter Crafting

 Hi there Crafty Friends! I hope you're all enjoying the Easter break. I've been at our Beach House for the last few days and have felt more inspired, so I've made a few cards. 

My first card is for the Altenew Inspiration Challenge. This month's challenge is hosted by Joy D'Souza and she used a beautiful picture she took of a rose to inspire us...

I used lots of Altenew products to create this card. I stamped the leaves from Altenew Botanical Illustrations and gold embossed on vellum and fussy cut. The flowers from the same set were stamped with Altenew Ink and coloured with Altenew Artist Watercolor Paints. The white card was embossed with Altenew Gem Pattern 3D Embossing Folder. The sentiment is from Altenew One-Go Birthday Greetings.

My next card was inspired by the prompt at The Flower Challenge, which is to make Background Stamping and Flowers the focus. I created a Garden Scene with Penny Black Cling Stamps.

I used Karin Markers direct to the starts and spritzed liberally before stamping. 

Stamp sets: Penny Black Trailing, Penny Black Farm Fresh, PB Sprinkles and Smiles

I also used som tiny Stampin up flower stamps and a butterfly stamp from Darkroom Door

One more card to share and it is for The Global Design project where we get to 'CASE' (CASE = Copy And Selectively Edit) a beautiful card from Anne Alexander...

I made a watercolour background with Nuvo Shimmer Powders, similar to Anne's colours and die-cut the panel. Then I used die-cut flowers instead of stamping and added a stamped sentiment. 

The flower dies and sentiment stamp are from Stampin Up.

PENNY BLACK SATURDAY CHALLENGE APR 01

 Hi there Crafty Friends! The year is rushing by and it's already time for another Penny Black Saturday Challenge! 

Our theme is always Anything Goes or if you prefer the optional twist is 'FUNNY

This is my only PB Easter stamp, so I use it once year. This time I made a CAS One-Layer Card. I coloured the image with Karin and Zig Markers and Coloured Pencils.
