CAS Mix Up - Oxidised Metal

Hello there! It's November!!! Wow where has this year gone? It's time for a new CAS Mix Up challenge and our host, Sue has come up with a really fun and interesting technique for us to try.

I die-cut the Eiffel Tower and then dropped various colours of Alcohol Ink on the foil, including gold.  When dry, I swiped Versamark over the die-cut and embossed with clear embossing powder.
I repeated this process a couple of times,  this time using a mix of metallic powders.
Next I stamped 'Carte Postale' (Paper Rose Studio), masking the edges and embossing with copper and gold powder.  I thought the vanilla coloured card complemented the metallic colours and inked the edges of the 'Antique Frame' (Penny Black) die-cut.

There are links to some videos on the CAS Mix Up blog, which explain how to do this technique.

Our Design Team and Guest Designer Arlene, have
some wonderful inspiration for you.

  1. This is the most fantastic Eiffel Tower I've ever seen, Jenny! The stamped background is perfect for it! If I had this stamp and die, I'd CASE this for sure. Maybe I need to do some shopping! Thanks for the inspiration.

The die-cut panel with inked edges does remind me of an old postcard with lots of travel memory.
