I've only been on the design team for a few months, but before that I always tried to enter the challenge, because the themes are always fun and often challenge us to try something new.
Congratulations to Loll and Bonnie for creating this wonderful challenge!
This month I'm hosting and I'm challenging you to use Acrylic Paint on your card.
There are so many types of Acrylic paint, so here is a link to explain a bit about their applications.
If you don't have any acrylic paint, you could use a paint pen and remember Tim Holtz Distress Paints too.
I've provided some other links to give you ideas at the CAS MIX UP blog
I attempted a new (to me) technique shown in Teela's video...
ACRYLIC PAINT/ DIE-CUTS / STAMPING
I dabbed various colours of Acrylic Paint on some card and then with a small strip of cardboard, I swiped the paint in a 'flicky' motion to smooth out on the card. You'll probably need to watch the video to understand what I did. Some of the paint I used was dimensional, so I have na lot of texture. I waited until the next day to die-cut the panel and backed it with a black panel to matte it.
The rectangle die is from Penny Black and the flower from Alexandra Renke.
The sentiment is from Penny Black 'Banner Sentiments'.
We have the talented Betty from Created by BJK as our Guest Designer this month and you can see her card and more inspiration at our blog.
We have 2 prizes to give away this month - one to the winner and one randomly drawn, so I hope you have some fun and join us in the challenge to celebrate our 4th Birthday:)
Thanks for taking the time to visit my blog! I love to read your comments:)
Jenny, I saw the video you mentioned in this post. What a fun technique, using acrylic paint!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the color combo of your background, and the white magnolia die-cut (stacked on the black die-cut?) looks amazing against the colorful background! The black matte is a really nice touch. Thanks so much for hosting this fun challenge this month.
