Hello there Crafty Friends. This month is a Mixed Media themed challenge. Coni is our host and the prompt is 'ACOHOL INK on VELLUM'. There are some links to video tutorials on the CAS MIX UP blog. Please be sure to keep your card designs Clean and Simple and include one other Mixed Media element.
I was excited to play with some new Alcohol Inks from Couture Creations. The colours are amazing and the white is glittery. I backed the vellum with some design paper, which is very subtle, but looks good IRL.
Stamps: Newton's Nook
Die: SSS Butterfly, not sure about the frame.
We have the incredibly talented Hannelie as our Guest Designer this month and you can see her card and more inspiration at our blog.
Oh I now need that glittery AI Jenny - what a lush effect it has given to this pretty panel. Great card! x
ReplyDeleteWhat a clever idea to back the vellum with DP as it adds an interesting extra element. I wondered how you had achieved that effect and now I know. I never would have thought of doing that, so thanks for the idea xx
ReplyDeleteAdore the shimmer you've created on this lovely card. Framing that abstract, inked panel makes it look like it should be hanging in a gallery. Also love the way you adorned it with the sweet butterfly glittery sequins.
ReplyDeleteOooh, I can see the sparkle and it's soooo pretty! Love the stitched butterfly, too, and your idea of backing with designer paper adds an unexpected twist.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous alcohol ink on vellum background, Jenny. I loved how you used die cut framing and added a small die cut butterfly and small sentiment. You still left most of the pretty background as the star. TFS my friend. Love and hugs..Nancy
ReplyDeletePretty colors on your background, Jenny! It looks like a Money garden! The butterfly looks like it likes it too!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card Jenny, love the idea of using the glittery velum for the extra sparkle. I can't wait to play along ♥
ReplyDeleteGorgeous colours for your AI on Vellum panel, Jenny! LOVE the shimmer from the white. Such a sweet white butterfly on top. xx
ReplyDeleteOh this is gorgeous Jenny - I must look for that sparkly AI next time I can get to a craft supplies place! Loving your background, and that wee butterfly die cut is beautiful
ReplyDeleteStay safe
Blessings
Maxine
Great effect with the inks and one very beautiful card jenny x.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely AI background Jenny! So pretty framed in white with the die cut butterfly laid over - I have to try your idea of putting DP behind the vellum!
ReplyDeleteWonderful AI background Jenny, love the colours teamed with the sweet butterfly and frame.
ReplyDeleteYour AI background is so pretty. Love the colors and the white die cut butterfly looks great over it. TFS
