All good things must come to an end...

It is with much sadness that it's been decided to shut down the CAS Challenges at the end of September after 6 1/2 years.  Please visit our challenge blog to read Loll's message and leave some love.

I wish to thank Loll and Bonnie for running these wonderful and inspiring challenges for such a long time.  Month after month we've had fun themes and techniques , often new to me and I've learnt so much as well as gaining so many friendships.

I will miss the the CAS Challenges and my amazing team-mates, but hope to still see your beautiful cards in blog land ❤️.

I am sharing a card which I made for a future challenge, which won't be happening. The prompt was 'Torn Paper' and when I searched the internet for inspiration I discovered an British-Canadian Artist named Ted Harrison. I love his artwork and was inspired to make this card ...

The house stamp is from a stamp set designed by my friend Shirley Bampton for Stamplorations and the dog, cat and sentiment are from Newton Nook.

Here is a sample of Ted Harrison's art ...

Sparkly Christmas

Just popping in with a quick post. I was inspired by the pretty photo at the current Time Out Challenge and used all 3 new Mini Snowflake Stamps from Altenew.

I was inspired by the colours and sparkle!
I used an Altenew Stencil and Embossing Paste, which was then heat embossed with Recollections Vintage Mint. The Snowflakes were white embossed on Vellum and fussy-cut. Then I matted the card and sentiment with silver glitter paper and added some gems for extra bling.

Embossed Waxed Paper Resist Technique

Hi there Crafty Friends! I recently watched Gina K video tutorial using Wax Paper,  Embossing Folders and an iron. It looked like fun, so today I gave it a try.

I made a Twofer because I put the Wax Paper inside a folded card to get 2 resist panels. I used the full panel on one card and a die-cut frame on the other.

My starting point was the Altenew Inspiration Challenge which features gorgeous, colourful Autumn leaves. I incorporated the colours and leaves in my cards, but I must admit they look more like Summer than Fall:)
This is the Embossing Folder I used...

So this card features the EF twice - once to emboss the white card and secondly for the emboss resist frame. I used Distress Inks and Altenew Blending tools. The bird was coloured with Altenew 24 pan Artist Watercolour Paints. As I was constructing the card, I decided to make it a Shaker just for fun!

I wanted to show more of the emboss resist pattern, so for this card I added a slim border and the white on black embossed leaves and sentiment.

Supplies used:
Altenew Floating Foliage EF
Altenew Parrot Paradise Stamp Set
Altenew Leaf Canopy Stamp Set
Altenew Leaf Clusters Stamp Set

Mama Elephant Scallop Frame Die

ALTENEW PAIR-A-FLOWER: WATERCOLOR EDITION CONTEST (ENTRY #3)

Happy Sunday! I have one last card to share for the Altenew Pair-A-Flower: Watercolor Edition Contest. Our Neighbours have the most amazing Magnolia tree which I admire every year. Unfortunately they're away and I didn't want to help myself without asking, but I managed to obtain a less impressive bloom for the photo.

I saw a picture on Pinterest of a Magnolia with a Hummingbird, (see below) so I have based my design on this photo.
I masked the edges of the water-color panel and painted a wash with lovely Spring colours. On a separate piece of paper I stamped the flowers, heat embossed in white and hand sketched the branches. They were then coloured with Altenew 24 Artist Water-color Paints. The Hummingbird was embossed with Silver Pearl and coloured with Altenew Metallic Water-color
paints.
Stamps: Altenew Magnolias For Her, Dazzling Dahlias

Just to remind you, in this Altenew contest you need to create a project with any Altenew floral design andWATERCOLORING MEDIUMS. Pair it with the same flower in real life or a similar floral design and photograph the two side-by-side.

Altenew Pair-A-Flower: Watercolor Edition Contest (entry #2)

Hi there! Well I'm very happy one of our Bearded Iris plants popped up a bloom this week. It's not in great condition, due to rain and it was very close to the ground, but at least you get the idea!

I recently purchased the Altenew Iris Outline Stamp set and I am loving it! I've made lots of cards and this is the one I've chosen to enter the Altenew Pair-A-Flower: Watercolor Edition Contest.

I used Altenew 24 pan Artist Watercolors and Metallic Watercolors. I mixed the 2 for the background wash and splatter.

Just to remind you, in this Altenew contest you need to create a project with any Altenew floral design andWATERCOLORING MEDIUMS. Pair it with the same flower in real life or a similar floral design and photograph the two side-by-side.
