52 Christmas Card Throwdown Nov Colour

Hi Crafty Friends.  Gill is our host for November at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge.

The second challenge of the month is always a  colour challenge. Joanne wants to see a RAINBOW of colours on our cards!

Well this was an easy one, once I'd decided to make the trees my rainbow. They were coloured with Karin Markers.
I made all my cards month's ago and forgot to record the products, so I'm sorry I can't remember the brand for the sentiment stamp.
Dies: Trees from Alexandra Renke; Deer from Impression Obsession; Snow Border MFT

I hope you'll visit the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown blog to see what our fabulous  Guest Designer, Klara and the rest of our Design Team have created with these colours.  Looking forward to seeing your cards in the gallery:)

Seize the Birthday - Surprise Guest

Hello there Crafty Friends! I am honoured to be the Surprise Guest at Seize the Birthday Challenge the next couple of months. It's one of my fave challenges and I'm so happy to join in the fun.

The theme for this challenge is 'STRIPES' but the themes are always optional, so you can enter any card, as long as it's a Birthday Card.

I made the stripes by scribbling Karin Markers over a stencil and spritzing liberally and then flipping it over on to the watercolour paper. I then used a brush to blend a bit more on the page.
I then die-cut the seahorse and embossed the white panel with a die.
Stencil: Picket Fence Watercolour Brushstrokes
Dies: Alexandra Renke Seahorse; Cutplorations Rectangle
Stamps: Clearly Besotted Simply Quilled

I hope you'll visit  Seize The Birthday blog for some more fabulous inspiration from the design team and then join in the challenge with us.

CAS Mix Up Card Challenge (August 21)

This month is a Stencil themed challenge. I'm hosting this month and would like to see you STAMP through your STENCIL.

There are some links to videos on our blog to give you some inspiration. I found this technique worked best with fairly open stencils.  Please be sure and keep your card designs Clean and Simple.

I sponged Distress Ink Twisted Citron through the stencil and with the stencil sill in place I stamped the Hero Arts background stamp using Distress Ink Mowed Lawn. I then die-cut the eucalyptus leaves and coloured with DI Blueprint Sketch. Next I stamped the sentiment and cut in to small strips edged with the ink. To finish I die-cut the frame and mounted on a white card.

This month we are lucky to have two incredibly talented Guest Designers joining us Michelle from I Card Everyone and Bobby from Bits & PiecesYou can see their cards and more from our fabulous DT at the CAS Mix Up blog.

52 Christmas Card Throwdown March Colour Challenge

Hi there! I'm back with another card for 52 Christmas Card Throwdown. This week Goga, our host, has given us such a fun colour palette to create with!

I have some gorgeous paper from Kaisercraft that has a marbled effect with foiled Pink Gold, so I die-cut some trees from this paper.  The sentiment strip is from another paper pad and matched well.
I painted the background and the details on the snowman with metallic paint. The rose gold metallic paint was a gold alternative to orange, so I could keep with the challenge colours.

Dies: Memory Box Tall Fir Collage; Alexandra Renke trees; Snowman (sorry I've forgotten😩)
Paints: Altenew
Paper: Kaisercraft & DCWV

I hope you'll visit the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown blog to see what the rest of the team created with these colours and then be inspired to join in the challenge!

CAS Mix Up Feb Reminder

Yes it's already mid-February, so I have a card to remind you about this month's CAS Mix Up challenge. It's a Stencil Challenge this month and Nancy , our host, wants us to HEAT EMBOSS our stencilled creations.

I used Embossing Paste with the stencil and then sprinkled with silver embossing powder. I let it dry before I heat embossed. I then decided to spray the background with cherry red  shimmer mist, because I thought it went well with the Oriental pattern.  The Dragonfly die-cut was covered with Versamark and silver embossed. To finish I stamped and embossed the sentiment.

Stencil: Kaisercraft
Stamp: Altenew
Die: Alexandra Renke

You can find more inspiration over on the CAS Mix Up Blog and we hope you'll be inspired to join the challenge.
