THE CARD CONCEPT #194 Spring Banquet

It's time for another challenge at The Card concept. The theme is Spring Banquet and I'm sure the beautiful  photo will spark your creativity, or if not, you can make a card using the colours or just whatever the theme means  to you.

As you can see, I was inspired by the picture and the colours to make a fairly CAS Mixed Media Card.

I masked off the edges and the centre strip of a white panel and stamped background in white ink and when dry, I sponged the coloured ink.  Then I stamped the nest and sentiment.
From memory, I think the background stamp is from Prima, but it is in my mixed media box at my other house. (I must remember to record the detail when I make cards!!!).
The nest stamp is from Wplus9 and the sentiment from Hero Arts.
The dies are oldies from a Papertrey Ink kit.

Remember, an inspiration photo is exactly that- a starting point for inspiration. Will it be the colours, the overall theme, the texture, the actual items and/or something else that will inspire your card?

I hope you'll visit The Card Concept Challenge Blog to see what the rest of the team has created and will be inspired to play along in the challenge with us.

Choose a design style (or combine styles), create a card, and in your blog post, let us know what inspired you from the photo, what style and/or styles you chose and don't forget to display our inspiration photo and link back to our challenge.

Inspired By...

Hi there.  I only discovered Inspired By Challenge this year and have enjoyed joining in when I could. They're celebrating their 200th challenge! Congrats!

So the theme is to choose one of their 2021  winner's and 'CASE' their card. I chose Caroline's card from November.

As it happens, Time Out Challenge also have 'Inspiration' as their theme, so I'm sharing there as well.

I haven't used this gorgeous stamp set from WPlus 9 for a while, so Caroline's card inspired me to get it out and create this card.

Stamps: Apple Blossom Gnome for Christmas; WPlus9 sentiment
sorry I forget name of tree stamps

CAS Colours & Sketches #431

Hi there Crafty Friends! It's time for August challenges at CAS Colours & Sketches and we have Bhavya is our host this month. She has given us a really pretty colour combo for our first challenge.

I decided I've been making too many floral cards and decided to try something different.

I struggled to find an ink similar to Balmy Blue, so I used blue cardstock and stamped with black and grey.
I embossed the white panel with an old favourite Embossing Folder.
The balloon die-cut was coloured with Karin Markers.
Stamps: Hero Arts Layered Elephant; Wplus9 Unforgettable
Die: Penny Black Balloon

I hope you'll pop on over to our blog to see the wonderful creations from our Design Team and be inspired to join us in the challenge.

52 Christmas Card Throwdown (April Sketch)

It's time to begin a new month of challenges at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown, with Branka as our Host.  She's designed a fun sketch to inspire us.

I decided to use some patterned paper as the background and the Christmas tree die-cut instead of the tag.
The owl and squirrel were coloured with Zig Markers and fussy cut.
Stamps:- Mama Elephant Whimsical Winter
Dies:- Tim Holtz Christmas Tree, Wplus9 'Joy'

You can see more wonderful cards from our Guest and the rest of the Design Team at our blog
I hope you'll be inspired to join us this week!

Case Me a Christmas Card with Michelle

I am so happy to be joining my friend Michelle Lupton again this year in her Christmas Card series.

This is the how it works this year;  Michelle  will CASE one of her guest's cards, and we will CASE one of hers! CASE stands for Copy And Share Everything - but it's not about just copying a card. It's about getting inspiration from cardmaking friends and making a new card with our own twist.  And, of course, the card has to be a Christmas card!

I couldn't decide which card to CASE, so I made a threefer!

My first card...

I used various blue and metallic white paints to make the background and then stamped the sentiment and snowflakes, heat embossing with white EP.  To finish, I die-cut the panel and added a bit of bling.
Stamps: Avery Elle Noel; Mama Elephant Merry Greetings
This is Michelle's card...

I'm sharing this card at the following challenge:-

My second card...

I used metallic paints again for the background and die-cut.
The snowflakes were heat embossed with Silver EP.
Stamps: Kaisercraft Let it Snow ; Wplus9 Hand Lettered Holiday
Dies: Cutplorations Stitched Rectangle (used to emboss) ; WPlus9 Hand Lettered Holiday

and Michelle's card...

Lastly, I had to include an Alcohol Ink card, because Michelle has been making some masterpieces with AIs ...

I had to choose an old AI background, because I'm avoiding using them at the moment due to having Asthma. So the colours are quite Non-traditional, but I think it looks festive!
I used various pinks, reds, white and gold AIs. I then sliced the sheet up and backed with metallic gold paper.
Stamps: unsure
Die: WPlus9 Hand Lettered Holiday

Here's Michelle's card

I hope you'll pop over to Michelle's blog and see which of my cards she's 'CASE-d' and also check out her other creations as she is so talented!

The base card is Dark brown woodgrain card-stock.
Dies: Marianne Designs Branch Wreath; Memory Box flowers & bird;  CUTploration Stitched Rectangle
Stamp: WPlus9 Fancil Feathers
