Inspired By...

Hi there.  I only discovered Inspired By Challenge this year and have enjoyed joining in when I could. They're celebrating their 200th challenge! Congrats!

So the theme is to choose one of their 2021  winner's and 'CASE' their card. I chose Caroline's card from November.

As it happens, Time Out Challenge also have 'Inspiration' as their theme, so I'm sharing there as well.

I haven't used this gorgeous stamp set from WPlus 9 for a while, so Caroline's card inspired me to get it out and create this card.

Another CASE

Just popping in to share a card for Global Design Project. This week was a CASE the Designer challenge and this is my card...

I used patterned papers for my background, distressing the edges to echo the frayed linen.
I stamped some background script and embossed with Liquid Platinum.
Then I layered some die-cut leaves and wildflowers with a butterfly stamped on vellum.
I stamped the sentiment on a strip of fabric. and stapled it to the card.

CASE the Designer

Hi there. I'm playing at the Global Design Project with a 'CASE' of Emma Goddard's card.

I added a border to my card, but instead of a rainbow, I chose to make it a Monet inspired watercolour. I then stamped my images in black, but couldn't resist highlighting with a touch of colour.  I included a dragonfly, to echo Emma's butterflies and twine.

I made the watercolour border with Distress Oxide, Distress Ink and Cosmic Shimmer Powder.
Stamps: Stampin Up Dragonfly Garden

Peony for a Friend

Here is a card inspired by Susan Wong for 'Case the Designer' week at GDP Challenge

I used some beautiful patterned paper from Craft Consortium as my background. I stamped the flowers with Karin Markers and blended with Zig Markers.  Then I adhered to a white card base and tied the black twine. To finish a stamped the sentiment on the die-cut shape and inked the edges with co-ordinating ink.
Stamps: Stampin Up Prized Peony
Dies: Penny Black Rectangle Frame; Papertrey Ink Don't Forget to Write

die-cuts, flowers, twine

Here is another card I made, based on a sketch in last week's CC&S.

Stamp and dies from Sugar Pea Designs. I used some of my remaining washi tape (sadly most of my washi tapes melted together in the summer heat).

CASE-ing Debby Hughes

I have been so inspired by Debby Hughes's mixed media cards and I  because I recently received some new products, I decided to case this card of Debby's.
Here are the steps I took to create this card.
  • On a piece of Bristol card-stock I stamped and embossed Hero Arts 'Friends'  with Pearl embossing powder.
  • Smoosh the card on a mix of D.O. Speckled Egg and Tumbled Glass ink. Continue until happy with colour.
  • When dry,  stencil some Distress Embossing Paste (crackle) in corner of card.
  • Sprinkle some Ranger Platinum embossing powder on parts of still wet panel and heat emboss.
  • When dry,  die-cut the panel.
  • Die-cut Alexandra Renke Foliage, swipe with Versamark and emboss with Liquid Platinum.
  • Colour some twine with Tumbled Glass Ink.
  • Stamp and emboss the Inspired by Stamping butterfly on vellum with Liquid Platinum .
  • Attach all elements to mixed media panel and mount  on Curious Skin Stone card base.
I chose not to add a sentiment just yet, so that I could save it for the right occasion.
Thank you Debby for the inspiration!

I'm sharing my card at the following challenges:-

Butterfly, Blue and Buttermilk (pearl embossing powder)

CASE the Designer

Hi there! I just found a challenge  (Global Design Project) that is new to me and I was very inspired to join in the current challenge, which is to CASE an amazing card made by Emma Goddard.

I used Twinkling H2Os which have a lovely creamy and shimmery look.   I added a bit of shading with Zigs.
My card ended up a lot more CAS than I'd intended, but when I tried adding more, it just didn't look right.
Stamps: Inspired by Stamping 'Butterflies'; Kaisercraft ' Fly Free' and one unknown (leaves)
I wish I'd added splatter, but was worried I'd spoil it, so a few sequins had to do.
