Favourite Flower

Hi there! I have nearly completed all my DT cards for this year so I was able to make some cards for my fave challenges this week 😍.

Every year I look forward to our Bearded Irises flowering in our garden and the photo inspiration at Altenew made me think of them. We've got a few months before Spring in Australia, but I can always add an Iris to my cards!

I used both Karin and Zig Markers for the flower and Distress Oxide for the stencilled hearts.
Stamp: Altenew Enchanted Iris
Dies: Penny Black Rectangle, Simon Says Stamp Sentiment
Stencil: MFT Hearts

CASE ME A CHRISTMAS CARD WITH MICHELLE 2021

I am so happy to be joining my friend Michelle Lupton again this year in her Christmas Card series.

This is the how it works this year;  Michelle  will CASE one of her guest's cards, and we will CASE one of hers! CASE stands for Copy And Share Everything - but it's not about just copying a card. It's about getting inspiration from card-making friends and making a new card with our own twist.  And, of course, the card has to be a Christmas card!

I chose a floral watercolour card of Michelle's. I loved the layout, the gorgeous wash around the flowers and of course the splatter! Here is my card...

I used Karin Markers, Distress Ink and Delicata Gold to finish. I began with the full image stamped with Antique Linen and painting the lighter colours. When dry,  I went on to the deeper colours, blending on the page. I let it dry over night and then inked up with gold ink and then embossed with Distress Embossing Glaze (Antique Linen), which allows some of the gold glitter to show through.
Next I painted around the bloom with Altenew Metallic Paint and splattered some of the burgundy.
The sentiment was stamped with Karin Marker.

Stamps: Altenew Festive Poinsettia

Now here is Michelle's gorgeous card. I hope you can see how I've cased her card and made it my own!

I hope you'll pop over to Michelle's blog and see which of my cards she's 'CASE-d' and also check out her other creations as she is so talented!

I would like to share my card at the following challenges:-

Watercolour Play & Masculine Belated Birthday

Hi there! Just sharing a few more makes that I haven't got around to posting.

So this one was just for fun, because I was playing with Daniel Smith Watercolours.
I then stamped the wildflowers and foliage, but I had to go over it with black marker, because the watercolour paper was so rough. I then added highlights with white gel pen.
Stamps: Stampers Annonymous

I used Distress Ink to stamp the balloon. I blendded the inks with water on the cling stamp and a bit more on the paper.
Stamps: Hampton Art Hot Air Balloon; CASual Friday Some Bunny
Die: Penny Black

CAS Mix Up March '21 and 5th Birthday Celebration Reminder

Hi again.  Just popping in to remind you about this month's CAS Mix Up Challenge.  It's a Watercolour challenge this month and Bonnie, our host, wants us to try 'Print Making with Die-cuts. There are some links to video tutorials on the CAS MIX UP blogPlease be sure and keep your card designs Clean and Simple.

I inked up a die-cut with Distress Inks, spritzed liberally and flipped over on to another piece of watercolour paper.   I trimmed this down and mounted on the card base, adding a splatter of black.
Next I stamped the butterfly, coloured with co-ordinating inks and fussy cut. To finish I stamped the sentiment and added some sequins.
Stamps: Kaisaercraft
Die: Paper Rose Studio

We have the talented Ros from Mikey's Mom as our Guest Designer this month and you can see her card  and more inspiration at our blog.

Flower Power

Just sharing a couple of cards I made last week and posted on Instagram.

I used The Ton Stamp's 'Magnificent Magnolia' again, but this time I did a watercolour using Distress inks and Zig Markers.
I needed a 'cheers' sentiment, which I didn't have, but came up with the idea to 'doctor' some stamps, so 'cheer up' and 'with sympathy' became 'cheers'.

The rose die is one of my favourites  from Penny Black - it's gorgeous and always reminds me of 'Beauty and the Beast' :)  I used zig markers to colour the die cut. The background stamp is an oldie and I partially inked it up. The sentiment is from Clearly besotted.

Honey Bears Cheers

Here is a fun card for the Ton Stamps Challenge. At first I was a bit stumped, because I didn't have any The Ton stamps with the word 'cheers' or even close to it, but then I had an epiphany and this is what I did...

I used Zig markers and an Aquabrush to colour the gorgeous Honey Bears. I'm in love with these bears! I have a new Iphone 7 Plus and the photo quality is so much better - so much so, that my blending looks bad!!! I looks better IRL:) Anyway, the brainwave was to use chipboard letters, which were buried deep in my stash!
