Purple Power

I'm popping in with a quick post, because a new month is upon us, which means there's a new Mixed Media Card Challenge.  This month's theme is *BLACK and PURPLE* with the optional element being *TWINE*.

I used a diecut butterfly from Concord & 9th to create a mask and sponged the background with distress inks. Then I spritzed it with water to create a mottled look.  The next step was to add some interest by adding some brushos to the centre butterfly. I painted water over the butterfly and then sprinkled the powder.  When it was dry I stamped Hero Arts 'Friendship' background stamp using Hero Arts white ink and then swiped perfect pearls over this. Next I added a machine stitched border and matted the panel with black paper. I then added the white and black layered die cuts and added a bit of bling.  To finish off, I added some twine and gem and mounted the panel on a white base card.

There are more wonderful cards from our design team at the Mixed Media Card Challenge blog and you can link up your cards here.

ETA: I am entering the following challenges:_

CAS Mix It Up  (stamping/ghosting + sponging(my choice)
