Penguin Pals

I got another Christmas card made today, but I think I might need to ramp up the production! It's a new month tomorrow and before we know it, the Silly Season will be upon us!

These cute Penguins are from Uniquely Creative 'Penguin Pals'. I shaded the Penguins and coloured the caps with Copic Markers. The embossing folder is from Stampin Up and the sentiment is an oldie from Kaisercraft.

Cutest Little Pups Ever!

I purchased this adorable stamp set a while ago and have only used it once, so I was happy to see the theme of the current challenge at Art Impressions would give the the perfect opportunity to use this set agin:)

You see what I mean! CUTE!!!

No great skill needed - I just stamped and coloured with Daniel Smith Watercolour Paints.
The stamp set is ART Impressions WC Dog set.

Another One Layer Stencil Card

I've been quite inspired to use stencils on my cards lately, and enjoy the challenge of trying to create depth, whilst making a CAS card.

I stamped the fish and made a mask for it. Then I lightly sponged Distress Ink over a third of the card. With the mask still in place, I stencilled the waves using DI Mermaid Lagoon and Peacock Feathers.
I then realised I'd used a card that didn't work with Copics or react well to any moisture, so I used Zig Markers, blending on the craft sheet. I very rarely use the neon colour, but thought it would add a 'pop'.  To finish, I stamped the sentiment and bubbles.

STAMPS: Dina Wakely Scribbly Fish; Winnie & Walter 'Big Bang Confetti'
STENCIL: Kaisercraft, but may be expired

An Old Favourite (book)

Today I made a card for The Library Challenge. I just happened upon this challenge and think it's a great way to inspire ideas. It certainly inspired me, because My daughter and I loved reading the chosen book for this challenge.   We laughed and laughed  - great memories:)

I stamped the cute Kingfisher/Kookaburra from Stamplorations and coloured loosely with Copics, for a watercolour look. Next I stamped the word bubble and sentiment.  I coloured clear sequins with Copic Marker to match.

Stamps:  Stamplorations (The Bees Knees) 'Small Birds' ; Winnie &Walter 'Bubble Talk'; Lawnfawn 'A Birdie Told Me'

Nautical Twofer

So many products and so many ideas, make it hard to decide what to make, but when in doubt I always turn to my Penny Black supplies.

The gorgeous die from Penny Black is called 'Out to Sea'.  I sponged a background, lining it up with the die and die cut the panel. Then I made another die cut wit white card.  The sentiment is from Altenew 'Thinking of You' stamp set.
For this card I die-cut 3 layers  for dimension. I stamped Hero Arts 'Waves Background' on the base card using DI Broken China and embossed with Silver Pearl and then sponged various blues as well as smooshing on craft mat. I used Daniel Smith Watercolours for the boat. The window die is MFT 'Peekaboo Circle'. The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp.

You're a Rockstar

It's reminder time for Time Out Challenge, where I'm thrilled to be Guest Designing in this challenge. They are challenging you to be FASHIONABLE, which could be interpreted in many ways!

This image always reminds me of Audrey Hepburn and she was definitely fashionable!

I stamped the image with black ink and clear embossed. I coloured it lightly with Copics and Zig Markers.  The sentiment is from Winnie and Walter.

You should pop over to the Time Out Blog to see what ideas the Design Team have come up with. We look forward to seeing your creations in the gallery.

This challenge is sponsored by the wonderful STAMPlorations, with a $25 voucher.

One Layer Stencil Card

Inspired by the theme at Less is More Challenge, I made this card today...

I sponged some ink on to the card and then placed the stencil from Urban Artist over this and sponged the same colour and some darker colours to give it depth. Then I die cut the Penny Black butterfly and used the negative as a stencil. To finish I stamped the sentiment from Altenew.

Peony Rose

Hi there. I thought I might share this card I made, which was inspired by this month's Altenew Inspiration Challenge.

I used 2 old stamp sets from Altenew 'Peony Scrolls' and 'Lacy Scrolls'. I stamped the images and sentiment in black and clear embosed and then coloured with Altenew Watercolours.

I'm not sure about the pink petals, but any other colour wouldn't work and I needed to balance it all out:)

Mixed Media Fun

I saw the gorgeous colour combo inspiration over at Winnie & Walter and decided to get out my Acrylic Inks.

I taped down some Arches 300gsm Cold Pressed Watercolour paper and the applied a liberal wash.
I then dropped various colours of Acrylic Ink and blended with a paper towel and my fingers.
When completely dry, I stamped the tree and added the pink 'blossoms' with Posca paint pen. I then stamped and white embossed the sentiment. To finish I die cut the birds and coloured with Jane Davenport paint pen and mounted on a black base card.

The stamps are from Winnie & Walter 'A Tree for all Seasons'.

More Colourful Butterflies

Hi there. It's mid -month reminder time at CAS Watercolour Challenge

I began by stamping the butterflies with Ink On 3's Fadeout No Line Colouring Detail Ink. I then used Zig Watercolour, Distress Inks and Peerless Watercolour to colour the images. I then added some darker details with Zig Markers. The butterflies are all from different Kaisercraft sets and the sentiment is from Darkroom Door. I added some splatter for a more artsy feel. The rectangle die is from Cutplorations.
