PENNY BLACK SATURDAY CHALLENGE OCT'26 Reminder

 It's the 3rd Saturday of the month, so it's time to remind you about  Penny Black Saturday Challenge.  This month our theme is 'ANYTHING GOES' or Optional: 'BRIGHT COLOURS'.

I do love this stamp and how you can change it to match the season. It's Spring in Australia, but since it's getting close to Halloween I thought I'd go for Autumn colours as that's more universally seen as the colours of the Holiday.

Time Out Challenge #324 Photo Inspiration

 Hi there Crafty Friends! It's time for a new challenge at Time Out.  It's a Photo Inspiration, so you could be inspired by the one element in the photo, the yummy food, the colours or the season or whatever sparks your imagination from this photo.  

STAMPlorations are our generous host and I've used one of their gorgeous card front panels and sentiment stamps. The wonky stitching die is an oldie of theirs as well. I changed it up a bit by adding the green matte. You can see I was Inspired by the colours and I'm sure bees would be attracted to those Danish pastries:)

I'm sharing another card I made with a second panel from STAMPlorations. It's so easy to make a quick and stylish card with these.

The sentiment die is from Altenew and the eclipse circle die is from Craft Addiction UK.

Seize the Birthday STB #336 Double Frame

  Hi there Crafty Friends! It's time for another Seize The Birthday Challenge.  

Nancy is our host for this challenge and her chosen Topping is to include a 'DOUBLE FRAME'. 

If however you are not in to our 'toppings' option, you can make any kind of  Birthday Card. 

The bird die was coloured with Cosmic Shimmer Pixie Powder. I stamped and gold embossed the background stamp on the base card and a second time on the bird. 

Dies: Memory Box Bird; Spellbinders square frame.

I'm sorry I can't remember the name of the sentiment stamp.

CAS Mix Up - Oct '26 - Mixed Media

 It's time for another challenge at CAS Mix Up and this month it's a Mixed Media Challenge. Linda is our host and the theme is 'BLACKOUT TECHNIQUE'. 

We have videos to show you how to use this fun technique over at the CAS Mix Up blog.

This technique can give you quite a grungy look, depending on the Embossing Folder and the method  used.

I swiped the ink pad over the de-bossed panel. I'm not sure how it would have turned out if I'd used a brayer. I think the grunge suits the Autumn leaves and I've splattered some gold paint to bighten things a bit.

Penny Black Saturday Challenge OCT '26

 Hey there Crafty Friends! It's the first Saturday of the month, so we have a new Penny Black Saturday Challenge up on the blog. 

Our theme this month is 'ANYTHING GOES or the optional twist 'Use Bright Colours'.

I used the gorgeous floral bouquet from

Penny Black Perch Stamp Set

I used Baohong Watercolour Paper and Altenew Watercolour Paints To colour the image.

I mounted the diecut bouquet on Black Card to make the colours pop and added a white splatter and stamped sentiment.

Time Out Challenge #323 Pick 2

 Hi there Crafty Friends! It's time for a new challenge at Time Out. We want you to Pick (at least) Two from the following prompts:- Harvest, basket, gingham, circle, baking, apple.

The gingham background was stamped on patterned paper with a background stamp from Hello Bluebird. The flowers stamps are from Penny Black, stamped with Delicata gold Ink and coloured with Prismacolor Pencils. The patterned paper is from kaisercraft and the sentiment from Pinkfresh Studio.

Seize the Birthday #335-Use Fall Colours

 Hi there Crafty Friends! It's time for another Seize The Birthday Challenge.  

 Linda is our host for this challenge and her chosen Topping is to use FALL COLOURS.

My card was inspired by one of my favourite artists, Trudy Rice. I made a mask and water-coloured the background and stamped and few images, while the mask was still in place. Then I stamped the Orchid and sentiment with Distress Oxide Ink.

TIME OUT CHALLENGE #322 Inspired by...

 Hi there Crafty Friends! It's time for a new challenge at Time Out and this time we want you to be Inspired by the Seasonal Colours Where You Live.

In Australia it is Spring, so I put some pretty die-cut and water-coloured flowers on my card. 

I die-cut the white card with Postage dies from Elizabeth Crafts and also embossed it.

The flowers were made with The Greetery BotaniCuts Hollyhocks Dies and the butterfly die is from Penny Black.

I used some gorgeous stamps from Stamping Bella and some patterned paper to create a scene based on the movie - Julie & Julia. The sentiment is from Poppystamps and I used Copic Markers for the colouring.
