Time Out Challenges #235

Welcome back Crafty Friends. It's time for a new Time Out Challenge and this week we want you to be inspired by a photo.

I love this pic and created a similar scene...

I recently purchased this gorgeous bicycle die set from Honey Bee stamps and paired it with some stamped flowers from Stampin Up. To complete the scene I added a pot plant made with dies from The Greetery.

This winner of our challenge will win a $25 credit from our generous sponsor - Doodle Bugs and will also have the chance to be Guest Designer in a future challenge.

The Card Concept #192 Happy Easter

Hi there Crafty Friends! This year is rushing by and already we have another challenge beginning at The Card Concept! The theme is Happy Easter - yes, it's Easter next week! We have a lovely photo to inspire you.

I was inspired by the colours and rustic scene in the photo to create a Clean & Layered Card.

I stamped the cute bunny on a die-cut circle of watercolour paper and coloured with Karin Markers.
I chose some rustic patterned paper from Kaisercraft for the background and die-cut flower wreath.
Then I  stamped and die-cut the sentiment.

Stamps: Craft Consortium (bunny); Pinkfresh Studio (sentiment)
Die: I'm sorry I forgot to record the brand.

Remember, an inspiration photo is exactly that- a starting point for inspiration. Will it be the colours, the overall theme, the texture, the actual items and/or something else that will inspire your card?

I hope you'll visit The Card Concept Challenge Blog to see what the rest of the team has created and will be inspired to play along in the challenge with us.

Choose a design style (or combine styles), create a card, and in your blog post, let us know what inspired you from the photo, what style and/or styles you chose and don't forget to display our inspiration photo and link back to our challenge.

Do Storms Ever Stop?

Just another quick post before I go to bed...

I made this card a while ago, but hadn't share it, so I'm entering it in Allsorts Challenge, where the optional theme is 'RAIN'.

I used a NBUS Stencil set for the clouds and rain. The fabulous sentiment is from Colorado Craft and the bunny is an old MFT stamp.

I'm also sharing at the following challenges:-

One Layer Magnolia Card

Today I pulled out my Penny Black Stamps for some relaxing, no pressure stamping and colouring. I made a few cards and I'm sharing this one at the Less is More Challenge

I used markers and Distress Ink  to stamp the Magnolia and then blended on the page. To finish, I splattered with black ink and added the sentiment.
Stamps: Penny Black Unfolding
SU sentiment

Alcohol Ink Leaves

Hi there. Just popping in to share a couple of cards I made, which were inspired by the current Altenew Inspiration Challenge. I mentioned a few days ago that I'm in a creative slump at the moment. When I feel like this I find it helps to make backgrounds with various mediums and then die-cut these to create cards. This time I played with Alcohol Inks.

I used leaf dies from Altenew Open Peony Die Set and the gorgeous Altenew Organic Linen Embossing folder for the first card. I have used glitter paper and mirror card, which are both difficult to photograph, but I hope your can see the shine.

For this card I used the Alcohol Ink in the background with white leaves.

Which design is your favourite? I think I like the AI leaves best.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my blog! I love to read your comments:)

Die Cut Blooms

Hi there Crafty Friends. It probably isn't obvious, because of all the DT cards I made in advance, but I'm really struggling to create at the moment. I have many excuses and I'm trying different things to motivate me, but so far no luck. Maybe when it gets cooler here I'll find my Mojo.

In the meantime, I still have plenty of previously made but not shared cards, so I can still play in some challenges. This one is for The Flower Challenge...

I have all my Altenew flower dies thrown in one box, so I'm not sure which set this is. I used Nuvo Shimmer Powder to colour the flowers and die-cut the leaves from Washi Tape for an edgy look.

TIME OUT CHALLENGE #234

Hi there Crafty Friends. It's time for another  Time Out Challenge. This week we want you to be Inspired  by Words: “It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold: when it is summer in the light, and winter in the shade.” —Charles Dickens, Great Expectations.

Remember this is just a starting point - You can be inspired by just one word, several words or the whole quote.

I have chosen 'wind' as my starting point...

I used several different stamp sets, randomly stamping and embossing with black and white. Then I made the shimmer watercolour background with Distress Inks and Nuvo Shimmer Powder.

Our wonderful sponsor this week is Topflight Stamps. They are offering a $25 Store Credit to our lucky winner.

You can see more inspiration from our talented Guest Designer Greta of GG Creations  and the rest of our fabulous DT at the TIME OUT CHALLENGES blog.
I hope you have the opportunity to join in our challenge.

THE CARD CONCEPT #191A&/or B

Hi there Crafty Friends! Welcome to the 2nd challenge of the month at The Card Concept.  The theme this week is SIGNS OF SPRING OR BUTTERFLY BLUES.  Well to be honest, I  just couldn't decide which picture I loved the most, so I have 2 cards to share with you.

I love blue and white and have a collection of china in these colours. I also have a bowl of lemons on the table when I use my china, so that's why I loved the inspiration photo and the colours.
The patterned paper is from Kaisercraft, the teapot stamp is a magazine freebie and the lemon stamps from The Greetery.

I hope you like my Clean & Layered card.

******************************

This time I was influenced by the colours and the beautiful butterfly to make a CAS Watercolour Card.  I used a stencil from Stamplorations to make a Monoprint and then stamped the Clearly Besotted sentiment.

More Altenew Pots

Hi there! I'm back with another card inspired by this month's Altenew Inspiration Challenge.

This time I used Altenew Indoor Garden Stamp Set and Dies. Very easy! I used an ancient Kaisercraft stamp for the bricks.

Penny Black Saturday Challenge March '23

Hi there Crafty Friends! The year is rushing by and it's already time for another Penny Black Saturday Challenge

Our theme is always Anything Goes or if you prefer the optional twist is 'EASTER'.I'm going with Anything Goes this time...

I'm a bit obsessed with Paris at the moment as I'm travelling to France and Italy in September.
This card was a bit of an experiment a. I didn't mask anything, so I had to go over the silhouette with black marker, but the couple are still a bit transparent:)
I used 2 Penny Black Stamp sets - 'in Paris' and 'On the Town'.
I hope you like the scene I've created.

The prize for this challenge is as always, provided by our generous sponsor

If you'd like to be considered for a guest designer spot for a future challenge, please add 'GDT' after your name on the link-up...and remember to check back to see if you've been chosen!

You can see more inspiration from our talented  DT at our blog. I hope you are inspired and have the opportunity to join in our challenge.

One for the Catlovers!

Hi there Crafty Friends! I have just returned from an interstate visit to be with my Daughter (and her cats) for her Birthday., so when I saw the colours for this month's Altenew Challenge, I was inspired to make this fun card...

I used Altenew Pots and Plants and an unknown stamp for the cat, a gift from a friend.  Emma's cats are very curious and love to get in to all sorts of spaces, so I'm sure they'd love this plant!

I'm also sharing my card at the following challenges:-

TIME OUT CHALLENGE #233 -ELEGANT

Hi there Crafty Friends. It's time for another  Time Out Challenge. This week the challenge prompt word is 'ELEGANT'. There are many ways you can interpret the theme - I have chosen to include an 'elegant' bridal scene.

I paper-pieced the dress and suit to make them extra elegant:) The stamp set is designed by my friend Shirley, for Stamplorations. The background paper has beautiful matte silver spots, which are very pretty.

We are very lucky to have Altenew as our sponsor this week.
