TIME OUT CHALLENGE #232 Birthday Celebrations

Hi there Crafty Friends. It's time for another challenge  at Time Out and this week we challenge you to ...  Celebrate our 9th Birthday!

We are super excited to have Sandie,  Time Out's co-founder and past leader, join us as Guest Designer for the celebrations. I'm sure many of you have had encouraging comments left on our blog over the years from Sandie, so it would be great if you could visit her blog and leave some love.

I had lots of fun creating this card using dies from Simon Says Stamp, The Greetery and Winnie & Walter. The card base was dry embossed with a cover plate from Papertrey Ink.
I coloured the die-cuts with Distress Inks and Copic Markers and then added some shimmer with Nuvo Glitter Gloss Pen.

We are sponsored this week by Newton's Nook, who are offering a generous $25 store credit.

You can see more inspiration from our other Guest Designer, Hannelie and the rest of our fabulous DT at the TIME OUT CHALLENGES blog. Hannelie's cards are always amazing!
I hope you have the opportunity to join in our challenge.

I'm also sharing my card at the following challenges:-

THE CARD CONCEPT #189a/b Cozy Comfort or Vintage Hearts

Hi there Crafty Friends! It's time for the second challenge challenge of the month at The Card Concept.

The second challenge of every month, we post two challenge photos!  You can choose whichever photo you prefer, or you could create two separate cards, one for each photo!

I  was inspired by the striped hearts and colours to create this Clean & Layered Card.

The dies are from Concord & 9th and the stamp from Uniko.

Remember, an inspiration photo is exactly that- a starting point for inspiration. Will it be the colours, the overall theme, the texture, the actual items and/or something else that will inspire your card?

I hope you'll visit The Card Concept Challenge Blog to see what the rest of the team has created and will be inspired to play along in the challenge with us.

Choose a design style (or combine styles), create a card, and in your blog post, let us know what inspired you from the photo, what style and/or styles you chose and don't forget to display our inspiration photo and link back to our challenge :-)

Altenew Magnolia Ballerina

Hello there. I found some time to make a card inspired by the beautiful pic at this month's Altenew Challenge.

I used Altenew Watercolour Paint, Ink and Nuvo Shimmer Powder to create a smooshed background. I then stamped the image and fussy-cut. I stamped the image again, die-cut and then layered the fussy-cut flowers on the die-cut.  This was then adhered to the black card base. To finish I stamped and and white embossed the sentiment and added the sequins.

TIME OUT CHALLENGE #231 CASE the Designer

Hi there Crafty Friends. It's time for another  Time Out Challenge. This week we want you to CASE the Designer.

'CASE' stands for Copy And Share Everything - but it's not about just copying a card. It's about getting inspiration from card-making friends and making a new card with our own twist.  We have chosen a gorgeous rainbow card created by Gina K and look forward to seeing how you are inspired.

Now I'll be honest, I find rainbow cards challenging - I'm not sure why, but I'm never really happy with how my cards look. However, I think I worked out how to make it more pleasing to my eye! I blended the colours with Distress Oxides and added Nuvo shimmer powder and then I die-cut all the flowers and mixed them up. I love how it turned out, although maybe I used too many.
The dies are all from Spellbinders, designed by the uber talented Yana Smakula.
The sentiment is from Altenew One-Go Birthday Greetings. (tip: I have stamped and die-cut lots of these and keep in a tin, ready to be used).

The winner of our challenge will receive a $25 store credit from our wonderful sponsor - Gina K Designs and also be offered a Guest Design gig for a future challenge!

You can see more inspiration from the rest of our fabulous DT at the TIME OUT CHALLENGES blog.
I hope you have the opportunity to join in our challenge.

TIME OUT CHALLENGE #233 -ELEGANT

Hi there Crafty Friends. It's time for another  Time Out Challenge. This week the challenge prompt word is 'ELEGANT'. There are many ways you can interpret the theme - I have chosen to include an 'elegant' bridal scene.

I paper-pieced the dress and suit to make them extra elegant:) The stamp set is designed by my friend Shirley, for Stamplorations. The background paper has beautiful matte silver spots, which are very pretty.

We are very lucky to have Altenew as our sponsor this week.

You can see more inspiration from our talented Guest Designer, Nora and the rest of our fabulous DT at the TIME OUT CHALLENGES blog.
I hope you have the opportunity to join in our challenge.

THE CARD CONCEPT #188 Floral Valentine

Hello there Crafty Friends! It's time for another challenge at The Card concept. The theme is Floral Valentine and we have a beautiful photo to inspire your creativity.

I used the gorgeous Altenew Arch of Flowers set, which includes a Stamp, Stencil and Die. I used Altenew inks and Copic Markers to colour the flowers. The background is made with the Altenew Organic Linen Embossing Folder. To finish I added an elegant die-cut sentiment using a SSS die and framed it with a die-cut oval window.

As you can see, I was inspired by the beautiful Tulips and colours to make a Layered CAS Card.
