TIME OUT CHALLENGE #261 INSPIRED BY WORDS

Welcome back Crafty Friends. It's time for a new Time Out Challenge and this week we want you to be inspired by words...

"I'm a romantic. I live for long, dreamy walks down the craft aisle" - Scrapbook.com

I hadn't yet used the Spellbinders Shopping Trolley die, so this seemed like the perfect chance. I didn't however have any craft/art themed stamps or dies that were the right scale, so my card is a bit like a caricature:)

I used silver mirror foil card for the trolley. The paint and brushes images from Altenew were coloured with Altenew Metallic Watercolour Paints.  The sentiment is an oldie from CasUal Friday.

This winner of our challenge will win a $25 credit from our generous sponsor - DoodleBugs and will also have the chance to be Guest Designer in a future challenge.

You can see more inspiration from our  fabulous DT at the TIME OUT CHALLENGES blog.
I hope you have the opportunity to join in our challenge.

Time Out Challenge #260 Striped

Welcome back Crafty Friends. It's time for a new Time Out Challenge and this week we want to see STRIPES on your card.

I thought it was about time I used my Hot oil goodies and this is what I made...

All supplies are from Spellbinders.  The butterflies were coloured by sponging with Distress Ink. I used Hot Press water-colour paper and Altenew paints for the die-cut flowers. To finish I added a bit of bling from Uniquely Creative.

This winner of our challenge will win a $25 credit from our generous sponsor - Lawn Fawn and will also have the chance to be Guest Designer in a future challenge.

Our incredibly talented Guest Designer this week is  Karen Rogers of kareN stampZ

Playing with Hotfoil and Die-cuts

Hi there Crafty Friends! I made a card! Yay! You haven't seen any recent makes from me for quite a while because my Mojo has been sadly missing! However this week I received some new products, including some gorgeous Hotfoil Plates from Altenew.

You probably can't see, but the card stock is a beautiful soft peach colour and is also shimmery. The foil colour is rose gold. It's very difficult to photograph, but you get the idea. I used Karin Markers direct to the stamp, spritzed and sprinkled a touch of Cosmic Shimmer Powder before stamping.

I chose these colours when I saw the photo at this month's Altenew Inspiration Challenge. Mindy is the host and check out the photo she chose...

A couple of months ago I had 2 of my wonderful (crafty) friends to stay for a few days at our beach house and that was the last time I've managed to make a card until today.
Well I did manage to make a few that weekend, so here oner using gorgeous dies and Glimmer Hotfoil plates from Spellbinders.
The embossing folder was a 'must have' as soon as I saw it, because it reminds me of pressed metal, one of my loves!
I used a mix of shimmer and glitter card stock for the flowers.

A is for Automobile.

This is the theme for the current Less is More Challenge. I thought it would be fun to make a couple of Masculine birthday cards...

It was a great opportunity to use Spellbinders Open Road die set for the first time. Thedie cuts were coloured with Copic Markers. I kept it super CAS.

I found this VW Camper stamp in my old and rarely used stamps box and paired it with The Ton Stamps Wave stamp set.

Playing with Stencils

Hi there Crafty Friends. Last week while wascat our Beach House I was feeling very relaxed and inspired and made lots of cards. These are some of the cards I made using Stencils.

I used Altenew Hill Blossom Stencil & Die set and Altenew One-Go Birthday Greetings for this CAS card. I didn't even add a splatter!

Here is another card using the same supplies plus Altenew Versatile Vases.

I used yellow glitter pen for the stamen and it looks great IRL, but doesn't show up too well in the photo. The colours were inspired by CAS Colours & Sketches, but sadly I missed the deadline.

Next up are a couple of cards using Altenew Blooming Flower Bed Stencil Set (3 in 1) and Altenew One-Go Birthday Greetings.

I also used a new to me die - Altenew Fancy Enjoy  and on the second card I added some texture with the Altenew Organic Linen Embossing Folder. The arch die is from The Greetery.

My last card uses a Stamplorations stencil and then I stamped over that with  Kaisercraft Background Script and Delicata Gold Ink.
The Rectangle die is from The Greetery and the sentiment die is from Spellbinders.

I'm sharing my 3rd card at the following challenges:-

So what do you think? I hope you can see how versatile Stencils can be and that I may have inspired you.

The Card Concept #193A/B New Arrival or Busy Bee

Hi there Crafty Friends! It's time for the second challenge challenge of the month at The Card Concept which means we post 2 photos and you can choose which photo you prefer, or you could create two separate cards, one for each photo!

I love both photos, but I've made his and hers baby cards as I will be needing them soon.

I used a discontinued stamp set from Uniquely Creative for both cards. I also used old stash of patterned paper and chipboard letters.
I used a beautiful Embossing Folder from Spellbinders for this card

I was inspired by the cute animals to create Clean & Layered Cards

Remember, an inspiration photo is exactly that- a starting point for inspiration. Will it be the colours, the overall theme, the texture, the actual items and/or something else that will inspire your card?

I hope you'll visit The Card Concept Challenge Blog to see what the rest of the team has created and will be inspired to play along in the challenge with us.

Choose a design style (or combine styles), create a card, and in your blog post, let us know what inspired you from the photo, what style and/or styles you chose and don't forget to display our inspiration photo and link back to our challenge :-)

Thanks for taking the time to visit my blog! I love to read your comments:)

TIME OUT CHALLENGE #231 CASE the Designer

Hi there Crafty Friends. It's time for another  Time Out Challenge. This week we want you to CASE the Designer.

'CASE' stands for Copy And Share Everything - but it's not about just copying a card. It's about getting inspiration from card-making friends and making a new card with our own twist.  We have chosen a gorgeous rainbow card created by Gina K and look forward to seeing how you are inspired.

Now I'll be honest, I find rainbow cards challenging - I'm not sure why, but I'm never really happy with how my cards look. However, I think I worked out how to make it more pleasing to my eye! I blended the colours with Distress Oxides and added Nuvo shimmer powder and then I die-cut all the flowers and mixed them up. I love how it turned out, although maybe I used too many.
The dies are all from Spellbinders, designed by the uber talented Yana Smakula.
The sentiment is from Altenew One-Go Birthday Greetings. (tip: I have stamped and die-cut lots of these and keep in a tin, ready to be used).

The winner of our challenge will receive a $25 store credit from our wonderful sponsor - Gina K Designs and also be offered a Guest Design gig for a future challenge!

You can see more inspiration from the rest of our fabulous DT at the TIME OUT CHALLENGES blog.
I hope you have the opportunity to join in our challenge.
