Case Study Challenge #129 - Take 2

Just a very quick post - the dogs are tearing around the house, so the park beckons!

I had a bit of fun with Washi tape for this 2nd entry in to the Case Study Challenge...

Case Study Challenge #129 Old Stash

Hi there! Todays been an inky sort of day - I've been doing a bit of experimentation - the result is not yet ready. In the meantime I had an epiphany - I've been trying to decide what to do for this week's Case Study Challenge and a couple of my ideas had already been done, then I suddenly thought of these very old flower eyelets and this is what I came up with.

This is the fab card by Teri Anderson, the current Muse...

And this is my card...

It's so exciting to use up something that's been hiding in my stash for years!
The sentiment is another Kikki -K stamp - I think they have cute stamps, even though they are a stationary company.

Camera Craze Crazy! and Case this Sketch

I told you I couldn't stop making them. The best thing is I;ve finally started using my stash of Washi tape! I've been collecting it for a while, but never really got the hang of using it on cards - weird I know!
So here is my 4th card for the Moxie Fab Camera Craze challenge:-

I've used stamps from Amy Tangerine, and 2 different Kaisercraft sets.

This is the sketch from Case this Sketch challenge - I did a mirror image - hope that's allowed!

Another Camera Craze card!

This is a super quick post - I just can't stop making camera themed cards! This is for the Moxie Fab World Challenge. I can see why it's called Camera Craze.  This is my 3rd entry and I have another one coming!

This is using the popular Amy Tangerine paper and stamp.

Moxie Fab World - TT- Set the Table

Happy Sunday! It is a VERY sunny day here! We are having a long heat wave and I would love
some lovely Autumn crisp mornings! We had record water usage in Victoria last month - lots of re-hydrating going on!

On to my card....

I was excited to see the photo for the latest Tuesday Trigger at MFW, because it reminded me of those gorgeous vintage prints I've been seeing in the shops.

I did a Google search for a vintage image and sure enough I found one at the Graphic Fairy.
I then changed the colour in Iphoto to 'antique' and then printed it on vellum.
Then I layered it on some script paper from Prima Almanac.
Then I layered it on a contrasting pattern and made a zig zag stiched border
(I'm not a sewer, so this was tricky!).
Then I inked up a card with walnut stain to fit the vintage look and added the sentiment.

What do you think? Did I achieve a vintage look?

It's Runway Inspired Time! Ric#30 - Erdem

TGIF! Oh wait, I just remembered my daughter has to be at rowing at 6am tomorrow - there goes
the sleep in!

When I saw the photo for the latest Runway Inspired challenge, I immediately thought of my Judikins
background stamp. So that was my starting point for my for this card:-

I stamped the background stamp on canson canvas card and coloured the background with jacquard dye .
The flower stamps are Kaircraft and coloured with Twinkling H2Os.
The sentiment stamp is from Kikki K.

Case Study Challenge #128

This will have to be a quick post as I need to walk my hyper dogs before going to meet my blog friend
Cecilia Hsieh.  We bought some PTI stamps together and I'm looking forward to meeting Cecillia and getting my goodies.

This month the Muse at Case Study is the very talented Teri Anderson. Here is Teri's 2nd card for the month:-

And here is my card...

I've chosen to go with the sketch and circles. I hope you like it.
The purple butterfly is felt. This is the card I was going to enter in the City Crafter challenge, but I missed the deadline.
The design paper is Japanese paper and the plain paper is metallic, both from my local craft shop.
The crystal on the butterfly is vintage, from my Mum's stash and the black flourish is from Kaisercraft.
The flower circle has been layered with foam tape and a gem.

City Crafter Challenge -All that Glitters!

I'm very excited today because I'm the Guest Designer at the City Crafter Challenge.
It's a great challenge and I love the wonderful  cards created by the design team - they never fail to inspire me!
The theme this week is 'All that Glitters'. Well, I took the theme to heart, because there's not much on my card that doesn't glitter! Join the fun by clicking here. I just missed the deadline for the last challenge - it is weekly, so don't delay.

The image stamp is from Hero Arts and the banner and sentiment are from Taylored Sentiments.
The background has been stamped with a stamp from Hero Arts (it's hard to tell in the photo) and once dry, I swiped the card with versamark and then embossed with sparkling embossing powder.

MFW _ Camera Craze take #2

I'm definitely loving this craze - I wish I had some Studio Calico wood camera shapes - they are the cutest!

It's my daughter's 15th birthday next week.she got a new camera for Christmas and is in to photography at moment. So I decided to make another card for the MFW Camera Craze challenge.

I have used Kaisercraft stamps and rhinestones for the lens and 1/2 an  American Craft stamp for the
'snap'.  I have made special, personalised cards for Emma since she was about 6 and she has
kept them all. They reflect the crazes she has followed throughout her years.
ie. Tamagotchi, Build-a-bear, horse riding.
I hope she likes this one.

Moxie Fab World - Camera Craze

Yesterday was my Husband's (Scott)  birthday. He doesn't like to have a fuss made of his special day but I thought I'd make a card for the Camera Craze comp at MFW and then he could be the recipient.
He was in Tassie for a conference and got back this afternoon so I was able to make it quickly this morning.

You probably can't tell from this photo, but the card is soft grey (not white).
I stamped the Kaisercraft stamp on the grey card, then fussy cut it and mounted on foam.
The border of film reel is washi tape - I've been waiting for the chance to use it.
The sentiment is computer generated.

Runway Inspired Ric#29 _ DSquared2

There is another wonderful inspiration photo at Runway Inspired this week - it made me think of travel and it had a vintage look, so with that in mind, here is my card for the challenge.

I had some travel stickers which gave me the inspiration for this challenge, but I've always wanted pink luggage,
so I decided to pull the stickers apart and remake them with plain card and pink ink. The one on the right was clear embossed and then I used an embossing folder. The background paper is created using stamps. The blue paper and travel sentiment is from Kaisercraft. I have used walnut stain to distress all the edges.

Moxie Fab - TT Cross my Heart

I think I may Just be getting my Mojo back! When I saw this week's Tuesday Trigger, I was inspired to create then and there! I love the colour combination and the rustic charm.

I embossed kraft card and then rubbed paint over it.
The heart is  from a very old Hero Arts set and I embossed it with red glitter powder.
The sentiment is from Taylored Impressions and I used a Die-namics die for the rolled roses.

Case Study Challenge #126

I just had to get in an entry for the last week of the Case Study Challenge January muse Amber Kemp-Gerstel. Her work is always so elegant, professional and on trend. This week's case cards are stunning.

The background stamp is from Penny Black and the sentiment stamp is from MME.

Moxie Fab World - Tuesday Trigger - Happy Birthday to You

I'm slowly getting back in to some card making. Both my children have gone back to school after 6 weeks holidays and our overseas visitors have gone home. So it's just me and the dogs at home during the day!

I hope I've got this card in before the deadline. Cath's Mom (Mum in Aust) is celebrating
a milestone birthday so the Tuesday Trigger is to celebrate her birthday.

This is one of those occasions when the end result is totally different from the original idea.
I was plaing to use some woodgrain effect and different colours, but this stamp worked out best with one colour .
I tried using paint for a matt effect, but it was defined enough so I used colour box ink and just heat set it without embossing. The inside of the card reads 70th Birrthday to keep it subtle!
