Autumnal Bird

Hi there. It's another windy Sunday in Melbourne, so I decided to stay indoors and make another card for the new CAS Watercolour Challenge, whilst my lovely DH makes me poached eggs for breakfast!

I began by doing a watercolour wash on a piece of Arches Watercolour paper. When it was dry I stamped the WPlus9 leaves using Memento ink, brushing the stamp with a touch of water.  Next I stamped this sweet bird from Stampendous and coloured with Gansai Tambi watercolours, the Memento ink and Zig CCRB markers. When it was dry I used the Brother ScanNcut to 'fussy cut' the bird. The branch is 2 Memory Box die cuts layered to make it a bit bigger.

Mix Media Card Challenge Reminder

A quick post from me today, just to remind you about our current challenge at the Mixed Media Card Challenge.  The theme is 'BLACK & PURPLE' and the optional element is 'TWINE'.

This was a quick and easy card. I  stamped the background using versamark and embossed with a pearl ink. Then I masked the edges and sponged various inks over the embossed area, leaving it lighter in the centre. I die cut the deer and then applied a sparkly black flocking powder, using a heat set glue. The flower is a die-cut and I sponged the edges with distress ink and added the pearl.

Sending Thanks

On this side of the world,  gardens are full of flowers, the air is sweet and warm and the days are getting longer , whilst on the other side of the world the leaves are turning a myriad of colours and the days are getting shorter.

Today I am sharing a card which which celebrates Fall, because I am very excited about a new challenge - the brain child of Loll and Bonnie. It is called CAS Watercolour and the challenge is to create a 'clean and simple' watercolour card and the theme this month is 'AUTUMN'.

I have used Gansai Tambi watercolours, Peerless watercolours and Brushos. Some of my leaves have been stamped using WPlus9 stamps and the rest of the leaves are die-cuts. The die-cut sentiment is from Papertrey Ink and the stamped 'thanks' is from Altenew.

Thanks for dropping by and if you love playing with watercolours, you should check out this challenge - they have a Design Team Call open until 15 October.

Purple Power

I'm popping in with a quick post, because a new month is upon us, which means there's a new Mixed Media Card Challenge.  This month's theme is *BLACK and PURPLE* with the optional element being *TWINE*.

I used a diecut butterfly from Concord & 9th to create a mask and sponged the background with distress inks. Then I spritzed it with water to create a mottled look.  The next step was to add some interest by adding some brushos to the centre butterfly. I painted water over the butterfly and then sprinkled the powder.  When it was dry I stamped Hero Arts 'Friendship' background stamp using Hero Arts white ink and then swiped perfect pearls over this. Next I added a machine stitched border and matted the panel with black paper. I then added the white and black layered die cuts and added a bit of bling.  To finish off, I added some twine and gem and mounted the panel on a white base card.
