Rule Britannia! Diamond Jubilee Fever!

I found these images here on Pinterest.
I've been following the Diamond Jubilee celebrations
on the television, whilst I've been making cards
and today I even found myself humming Rule Britannia!!!

Living in Australia, I find most people my age and younger are not really into the Royal family (although I'm not a Republican either), but who couldn't admire the amazing pomp and ceremony put on by the Brits!
everybody looked liked they were having a wonderful time and what a brilliant excuse for a party.

My Mum and Dad are the same age as the Queen and I marvel at her
stamina and dedication - she really is a fantastic role model.

I made this card for the Less is More RED WHITE AND BLUE challenge and the Cas-ual Friday
challenge which is to use bling. I will also enter this in the Creative Inspirations - Inspired by CAS
and Simon Says Stamp
challenges.
I have used Ruby Rock it paper and the sentiment is from the Pink Petticoat free Jubilee pack.
I hand cut the cupcake shape and used a border punch.  The cupcake is half a die cut circle and I used an embossing folder, then decorated it with glitter and the rose. I added the crown and bling to the Union Jack flag.

Playdate Cafe PDCC 134 & Winter Blues

I've been reading on many other blogs how excited people are about the beginning of the Summer break and it made me think about how amazing it that we can communicate so easily with people on the other side of the world. I know this is obvious, but sometimes it makes me think how wonderful the blog world (especially craft blogs) can be.

We have just started winter and yesterday it rained all day so some parts of our state are bracing for floods.  I hope they are all ok.  Today it was very, very cold (by Australian standards), so the dogs only got a short walk.

Anyway, on to crafty things, today I made a card for the Playdate Cafe Challenge

This card is made completely from Kaisercraft products -
the paper and die cut are from the Tigerlilly collection and I have punched the scalloped border
from latte card and used chino pearls on the die  cut.
I sponged the edge of the paper with mustard seed, marigold and wild honey
to incorporate  the yellow colour in to the card.

Moxie Fab World - Another spatter card

Here is another card for the Moxie Fab spatter challenge.
I decided to make a few teenage male cards in case my son gets invited to any parties.
The graffiti stamp is from Kaisecraft. I'm not sure about the sentiment.
I used distress inks and spray mist.

A Right Royal Challenge!

This week at A Passion for Papertrey they are having their own Jubilee celebrations.
This gave me the perfect opportunity to break out my Ruby Rock it vintage paper.

So most of the paper is from Ruby Rock it, the Queen of clubs (wish it was hearts!) is from Kaisercraft
and the'celebrate' sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.

Retro Sketches #13

I have only just discovered this challenge - the sketches look really good.

Have you ever made a card that just had a life of it's own??? This is not what I had in mind when I started out - far from it, but I just went through a few of the many stamps that haven't been inked up yet and well this is the result.
The main image is Darkroom door and the ticket stamps are from Prima.

I've noticed 2 things lately - 1) I don't have a style (and I wish I did)! 2) I really love black and white with a dash of colour.

Case Study Challenge

I think this is the  first time I've played along in the Case Study challenge.
I really love Aga's
style and this card is another beauty!

I have stamped the Stampin Up rose twice and cut the second one smaller,

then coloured with copics and twinkling H2Os.
I then stamped Kaisercraft script on the flower for a bit of interest.
The music stamp is from Pink Paisley.
The spatter is made with spray mist and some random orange dye.

I will also enter this in the Moxie Fab World
 spatter technique challenge.
