Splish, Splash!

Here is a card I made using the splash watercolour technique. What is that I hear you ask? Well to find out more, check out the CAS Watercolour Challenge this month and there is a link to a video by Loll Thompson.

Now, I am a fan of the Smooshing technique, which is basically to 'smoosh' your paper around on whatever wet medium you are using. The Splash watercolour method is similar, but involves more pouncing and you end up more of a splattered look. Well, that's how I interpret it anyway.
Actually, I think I usually combine these methods. Check out a card I made here.

I used Distress Inks and Distress Oxides for the Splash background. The die is from Memory box and the sentiment is from Altenew.

I'm entering the following challenges:-

  1. You interpreted the Smoosh and Splash techniques perfectly, Jenny:-) Both your techniques show up well in your beautiful CAS card. I love your added die cut flower and sentiment and simple framing too. TFS and joining us at CAS Watercolour, my friend. Hugs...

  4. Your splashed background is gorgeous Jenny. I love all the variations of colours and white space from splashing. Smooshing tends to give a smoother look which is very different. The background you have created is very artsy and beautiful and shows off the gorgeous white die-cut flower. Thanks for sharing with us at CAS Watercolour! xx
