I packed most of my Christmas stamps away yesterday, so I decided to check my Silhouette folder to see what snowflakes I have in my library and found this beauty! Originally I was going to use it as a stencil and I may still do it, but first I decided to use the negative space panel. The card stock is meant for acrylic paint, so I used a combination of Golden Acrylic Ink, Distress Re-inkers, water and Brushos. I die-cut a snowflake from Concord & 9th for the centre and added a rhinestone - it was hard to photograph, it looks yellow, but it is clear. I added the white border with a gel pen. I like the finished card - grungy and CAS at the same time! I'm entering the following challenges:- CAS Watercolour - Snowflakes Cas Mix Up - Liquid Colour Simon Monday Challenge (new die & never used cut file) Simon Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes Happy Little Stampers Watercolour - Anything Goes |

Hi there... Just wanted to say thank you for your lovely comment and no, I don't design stamps but I'm very flattered that you thought I might... I don't think I'm that good. Your card is a stunner by the way. Have a great day!

ReplyDeleteI LOVE blue and white cards so this caught my eye straight away!! Gorgeous die-cut and love how you added the smaller snowflake in the middle. Stunning card, so excited to see you again at Happy Little Stampers!!
ReplyDeleteThis really is a beautiful card and I think you nailed it when you said it was a mix of grungy and CAS. I am not so good at CAS, so I always respect those who can make a "simple" card pack a punch! And this does that! The background is stunning with its swirls of color and the snowflake is such a unique shape. I also like the added layer of a snowflake to the center. This was so inspiring to see and I'm so glad you shared your talents with us for this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!
ReplyDeleteWonderful grungy blue background, such a great wintery contrast with your beautiful snowflake. Thanks for joining us at CAS Mix Up!
