New Altenew Stamps

Today I am sharing a card I made with Altenew Halftone Circles, which I snapped up as soon as I saw it in the Altenew release blog hop! I think this set has so many possibilities!

I decided for this card to use the Altenew February Challenge as my inspiration, so the colours obviously don't blend too well, but I think I managed it without any muddy overlap.

I used the M.I.S.T.I.  tool, which is definitely a must when your stamping with this style of stamp and I tried to blend the inks a bit for an ombre effect. The green inks are a new set of colours from Altenew and the pinks are from the original Altenew ink sets. The stamp sets are Halftone circle and Label Love.

A Beautiful Day

Hello there friends:)

I have been playing around with a gorgeous stamp set from Altenew, called A Beautiful Day. The bloom stunning and I will have a few cards to share soon. This is the first and my favourite ...

I stamped the flower with the darkest of the Altenew pink inks and have coloured with a mix of watercolour paints, including Windsor Newton and Gansai Tambi. The Leaves were stamped and coloured with distress inks. I went for the brighter foliage to mirror the Inspiration photo from the Altenew February Challenge. At first  I thought the background paper was a bit to bold, but I've decided I like it - it's this year's Pantone colour and the stripes add interest.

Sending Love - City Crafter Guest Spot

Hi there. I'm very excited to be Guest Designing this week for the City Crafter Challenge after winning a challenge with this creation.

The theme this week #348 is S.W.A.L.K. - use an envelope or letter.  Here is my card....

It's very CAS and a simple design. I cut a vellum envelope with my Silhouette and then silver embossed the loveheart on the vellum envelope and again on a scrap of vellum. I coloured the second heart and fussy cut it, mounting it over the other heart with dimensional tape. I diecut a piece of white card and stamped some script, placing it in the envelope. Then I mounted the envelope on a diecut black panel and then placed that on the dry embossed background. To finish, I stamped the banner and sentiment adding a touch of bling and mounted that with dimensional tape.

The image is from MFT Stamps, the script from Kaisercraft and the sentiment is from Avery Elle.

I hope you will pop over to the City Crafter Challenge Blog to see what the Design Team have created and then play along yourself.

Welcome Tweet One - take 2

Here is another card for the Winnie & Walter 3rd Birthday Bash - this is the 'HIS' version of my last card, with bold colours as opposed to pastels.

I've used Gansai Tambai Watercolour on this card and I like the black embossing, because it makes the features stand out more, especially with the bright colours.

Just to remind you, the stamp set is W&W Tweet One - there are lots of sweet images and fun sentiments in this set.

I'm entering this one in the following Challenges:-

Welcome Tweet One

Have you seen? It's Winnie & Walter's 3rd birthday and they're celebrating with a big bash. There are lot's of fun challenges and prizes to be won! Here is my first card for Shay's challenge - the theme is '3' and I have used 3 colours.

I stamped with white ink and embossed with Pearlised embossing powder, which is very pretty, but I'm thinking the bird would stand out better in another colour, maybe pink with yellow heart.

The stamps are from Winnie & Walter So Tweet and I've used various types of watercolour including Gansai Tambi, Distress Ink re-inkers, Zig CCRB Markers and Peerless.

More Love

I'm back with another lovey dovey card - very unusual for me, but I got carried away buying some gorgeous dies and well, I have to use them!!!

I began with a piece of watercolour paper and washed water liberally over it.  I then sprinkled Brushos over it - Brilliant Red, Scarlet, Alizarin Crimson and Burnt Sienna, blending with a brush.  When dry, I diecut the tag. Then I dry embossed the base card and diecut the Abstract Heart from Dienamics. I also diecut the sentiment (Heidi Swapp) and tiny hearts (Mama Elephant) and coloured them with Wink of Stellar Gold.  I do find it very difficult to photograph gold, but I hope you can see from my pics, how sparkly and gorgeous this is.
I stamped the 'you' and then put it all together, adding a few sequins.

You Are Loved

Hey there. Today I have a CAS, artsy Valentine's Card, using my new dies from My Favorite Things.

Firstly I made a wash on a piece of watercolour paper, using Brushos and Color Burst. When it was dry, I die cut the hearts. Then I diecut the tag and embossed the tag with the co-ordinating stitching for the hearts.
Next I added another wash to the base card and stamped the sentiment on the tag.
The sentiment is a combination of MFT and Honey Bee Stamps, using Zig CCRB Markers.
To finish, I added the sparkly silver bow.

Love & Romance

Another quick post with a card I made for Valentine's Day I haven't made this style of card for a long time - no stamping!!! But I had this paper in my stash and I thought it would be perfect for a love theme.

I'm sorry I have no idea of the source for the paper. The tag was dry embossed with a Kaisercraft embossing folder and the envelope was made with a cut file from Silhouette.

So I'm entering the following challenge:-

I Otterly Adore You!

Hello there.

I have a fun tag to share today. This is a new stamp set from MFT and my heart jumped a beat when I saw it! Otters are my favourite creature (apart from my dogs of course) and I LOVE visiting them at the zoo, although I don't like them being kept in captivity. I would love to see some Sea Otters in the wild and often look at videos about Otters on Youtube.

Anyway, this is the first of many creations using this stamp set...

I have stamped the otter in Archival grey and black on the nose and then again with versamark
and clear embossed. The otter is coloured with Zig CCRB markers and the waves and background of the tag have been coloured with Brushos and distress ink.
The waves and tag were cut with Dienamic dies.

Color Burst & Brushos

It's glorious in Melbourne today, so I'm sharing a brightly coloured card to match the day!

I decided to experiment with Colur Burst & Brushos (crystal powder water colours) and to my surprise, it seems that the Color Burst is even more vibrant when it dries! The puple is so amazing!
The pink colour is a mix of Color Burst and Brushos and the purple is only Color Burst.

I chose to do this on Bristol Mixed Media paper, because it is a brighter white than watercolour paper and gives more contrast.
I stamped the music script background from Kaisercraft and white embossed. Then I painted water on the card and sprinkled the powder, mixing it around a bit with a brush.  Next I die cut the Memory Craft Butterflies and Dienamics sentiment and mounted them on the card when it was dry. There are 3 layers in the sentiment.
