PENNY BLACK SATURDAY CHALLENGE FEB '2025

 Hey there Crafty Friends! It's the first Saturday of the month, so we have a new Penny Black Saturday Challenge up on the blog. 

Our theme this month is 'ANYTHING GOES or the optional twist 'HEARTS''. I went with Anything Goe

I stamped the 'Postcard' and sponged the edges with Distress Ink Brushed Corduroy. 

Next I stamped the magnolia flower with Karin Markers, blending with water on the stamp.

Time Out Challenge #281 Pick Two: Stitch, layer, heart, food, love, warm

 Hi there Crafty Friends! It's time for a new challenge at Time Out. We've changed up our challenge themes this year and for this challenge we want you to Pick (at least) Two from the following - Stitch, layer, heart, food, love, warm.

I've used an old die set from My Favorite Things and a smooshed background for the stitched hearts.

The stitched scallop rectangle die is from Memory Box. 

I promised myself I'd make a record of stamps used on my cards, but sadly I've already failed, so I don't know the brand for the sentiment.

(I have 1/2 my supplies at our beach house and 1/2 at home. I think I'll start taking a rough photo of the card with the supplies as soon as I'm done).

Seize the Birthday - #298 Kraft b& Red

 Hi there Crafty Friends! I have some wonderful news to share. I am so excited to be joining the amazing Design Team at Seize the Birthday Challenge! It was such a lovely surprise to be asked and of course I was delighted to say yes! So here is my first post as DT member.

Glenda is our host for this challenge and she's picked a fabulous colour combo for the topping this week. 

To create my card, I embossed the kraft card and die cut the gorgeous bow and sentiment from red shimmer card.  I added some shading to the bow with a Copic Marker and added a white off-set layer to the sentiment. To finish, I mounted this on a white card base.

Time Out Challenge #280 Be Inspired by

Hi there Crafty Friends. We have a really fun challenge for you tat Time Out. We want you to be Inspired By: Your favourite thing to do in January. 

It's Summer where I live, so that means lots of entertaining and drinking lots of G&T's on those barmy evenings!

I used a gorgeous(NBUS) stamp set from Visible Image to create my artsy card.

I used my new sets of Zig Markers to do the colouring. I love all of their new (to me) colours.

(activity where you live - sport, drink, hobby, place to go, book genre... This allows our southern hemisphere players to think summer, and our northern hemisphere players to think winter or whatever season they enjoy in January)

This winner of our challenge will win a $25 credit from our wonderful sponsor - Lawn Fawn and will also have the chance to be Guest Designer in a future challenge.

THE CARD CONCEPT #213 WINTER SOLACE

 Hello Crafty Friends! Welcome to a Wonderful New Year of challenges at The Card Concept. 

We have a beautiful photo, with a very serene scene, to spark your creativity.

I used patterned paper and a sentiment stamp to create this monochrome Vintage style collage.

Remember, an inspiration photo is exactly that- a starting point for inspiration. Will it be the colours, the overall theme, the texture, the actual items and/or something else that will inspire your card?

Penny Black Saturday Challenge Jan'25

I actually made something new from an rejected panel. I didn't like the colouring of the whole stamped image, so I fussy cut the bits I liked and made 2 tags. 

The stamp is called Penny Black Alluring Arrangement.

I used Zig and Karin Markers

TIME OUT CHALLENGE #279 THEME: BEGINNINGS

 And just like that, a New Year has begun!!! I hope you all had a enjoyable Holiday Season with family and friends, with lots of yummy food and drink and maybe found some time to create.

This was a really simple card to make, using just dies and designer paper.
