SEIZE the BIRTHDAY #319

Hi there Crafty Friends! It's time for another Seize The Birthday Challenge.

Cathy is our host for this challenge and she wants us to  create a Birthday Card with a 'RAINBOW OF COLOURS'. If you are not in to our "toppings" option, you can make any kind of  Birthday Card.

I used Distress Inks to make a smooshed rainbow background and then di-cut lots of flowers with a border die from Stampin Up. I then placed them in a grid formation on the black card and added pearls in the flower centres. I then matted the black on a white card base for extra pop. The sentiment is from Penny Black.

Our Surprise Party Guest is Helen Brammer from Helen's Craft Haven.

You can see Helen's gorgeous card and more from our  talented Design Team at  Seize the Birthday Challenge blog.

I hope you'll find time to join us. Remember, the topping is optional, so if you prefer Anything Goes, that's fine,  so long as it's birthday themed.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my blog! I love to read your comments:)

Time Out Challenge #305 Favourite Technique

Hi there Crafty Friends! It's time for a new challenge at Time Out and we want you to make a card using 'A Favourite Cardmaking Technique'.

Last year, when I had to be non-weight bearing on one foot and was stuck in a chair for 4 months, I got in to colouring with Prismacolor and Polychromo Pencils. It was so relaxing and quite addictive. I'm never going to have the patience to really master this technique, but I am still happy with my results.

This gorgeous mermaid stamp is from Stamping Bella. I mostly used Prismacolor Pencils and added some sparkle with Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Gloss Pen.

Our wonderful sponsor, Top Flight Stamps, is generously offering a $25.00 store credit as a prize for our Challenge Winner, who will also get an invitation to join us as Guest Designer for a future challenge.

We are lucky to have the very talented Gundi of Papierelle as Guest Designer for this challenge. You can see Gundi's amazing card and more inspiration from our  wonderful DT at the Time Out Challenge blog.
Now it's your turn - I hope you have the opportunity to join in our challenge.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my blog! I love to read your comments:)

Seize the Birthday - #318 Make your own Snowflake Background

Hi there Crafty Friends! It's time for another Seize The Birthday Challenge.

Barbara is our host for this challenge and she wants us to  create a Birthday Card with Our Own Snowflake BackgroundIf you are not in to our "toppings" option, you can make any kind of  Birthday Card.

I wouldn't mind a bit of snow here as it was 43C yesterday and more to come!

I made a smooshed backgound, then stamped the music and then Snowflakes, which were heat embossed. I used Pearl Embossing Powder for a warmer look. The Music Background stamp, Snowflake Stamps and Frame Die are all from Penny Black. The Deer Die is an oldie from Alexandra Renke I think and the sentiment from Papertrey Ink.

Our Surprise Party Guest is Helen Brammer from Helen's Craft Haven.  We also have Stephanie from Ingenius Inkling joining us as Guest Designer.

You can see Helen and Stephanie’s  gorgeous cards and more from our  talented Design Team at  Seize the Birthday Challenge blog.

I hope you'll find time to join us. Remember, the topping is optional, so if you prefer Anything Goes, that's fine,  so long as it's birthday themed.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my blog! I love to read your comments:)

Time Out Challenge #304 Theme Challenge

Hi there Crafty Friends! It's our first challenge for 2026 at Time Out and it's a Theme Challenge. The theme is 'ALL THAT GLITTERS'.

We also have a new teamie - the incredibly talented Jaydee from Stampin' with Jaydee. She has been a regular entrant in our challenges and has wowed us with her talent!

I dry embossed the background  of metallic card stock, swiped it with ink and then heat embossed, using various embossing powders and glitter. Next I swiped gold ink on the die cut leaves and embossed with a gold glitter embossing powder. To finish, I added the sentiment, which I thought was perfect for a New Year card.
The embossing folder is from a discount store and the Gingko Die is from Impression Obsession, who are sadly no longer in operation.

We are lucky to have the very talented Heather Heroldt of Handmade by Heather as Guest Designer this challenge. You can see Heather's fabulous card and more inspiration from our  wonderful DT at the Time Out Challenge blog.
Now it's your turn - I hope you have the opportunity to join in our challenge.

Altenew Inspiration Challenge - 2025 Year in Review

Hi there Crafty Friends. Happy New Year! May 2026 bring good health, happiness and lots of crafting inspiration to you all!

Here's another card for the Altenew December Inspiration Challenge. I made a card inspired by Therese's pic from the September challenge.

I've used some new and some older Altenew products. I saw the beautiful embossed background on someone's blog and immediately purchased it! I've used the debossed side for this card. The other new product is the vase. I used metallic card stock, swiped with DO ink and embossed with a semi sparkly powder for a Faux Oxidized Metal look.
Stamp: Altenew Build A Flower: Coneflower Layering Stamp & Die Set
Die/Embossing Folder: Altenew Pitch Vases
Embossing Folder: Crisscross Blooms
Die: Sweet Sentiments
