Hi there Crafty Friends! It's time for a new Time Out Challenge and this week we want you to be inspired by a photo.
The photo prompt in this challenge is also the prize - a beautiful handmade bag, made by our old Teamie Kim Heggins. Kim not only makes beautiful cards, she is also very handy with needle and thread! Check out her other beautiful creations at Running Stitch Designs.
I took my inspiration from the Colourful stripes and dots and combined these elements to make dotty stripes:)
I used a stencil and distress inks for the dots and then cut up the strips. The die for the flowers are from Alexandra Renke.
I decided to leave the card without a sentiment, because I need more blank cards.
You can see Michelle's card and more inspiration from our fabulous DT at the TIME OUT CHALLENGES blog.
I hope you'll be inspired by this gorgeous bag and have the opportunity to join in our challenge.

What a unique way to get stripes and polka dots into your design! It is a striking card with the bold and pretty colors. When I first saw it I thought it was rolled papers on an angle, and now I see the strips with the black showing through...and will remember this for future cards! Great card!
ReplyDeleteLove how you have made the colourful spots into stripes and the wonderful black and white contrast. What a great card xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a super take on the challenge Jenny! I love the way you incorporated the polka dots into your desing! A great fun card! Love it!:)
ReplyDeleteThis is such a great take on the inspiration, Jenny. I just love the white on black and the colorful dots and stripes. Such a wonderful design and I love the detail of that tiny bow and jewel.
ReplyDeleteI was hoping that was a pattern paper I could go buy! LOVE those dots!! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHow fun to combine the stripes and polka dots, Jenny, and the black really makes them pop.
ReplyDeleteJenny, I love that you went with the larger dots and cutting them up and laying them on a diagonal adds so much wonderful movement and interest. The white flower against the black background really pops. Beautiful.
