Moxie Fab World - Tuesday Trigger

Autumn awaits for some... but where I live we are looking forward to Spring
and with it, hopefully lots of sunny days like today.

The photo for this weeks Tuesday Trigger challenge reminds me so much of
Audrey Hepburn. I have a stamp that reminds me of Audrey also, but I didn't
want to be too literal in my translation of the trigger. So I stuck with the
colours and did a bit of colour blocking with the B & W ribbon thrown in to
signify the scarf.

I used a new embossing  folder from a local craft store - I was very pleased with
this find, I love the pattern. The flower is an old Prima from my stash, the resin flower
is from Kaisercraft and I've used a bit of black tulle and some flower stamens (?)
for added interest.

Embellish Magazine - Pinwheels

This challenge for Embellish Magazine
was a bit of a coincidence to me because I had decided
just the day before to try making a pinwheel.
I remembered I had this very old paper in my stash, I think it
from we r memory keepers.
The background cream card is co-ordinations.
The ribbon, lace, buttons and brads were also from my stash.
I wrapped ribbon around a skewer  for the stick.

Runway inspired challenge

I am quickly posting this and will come back with details
as I have to take my 14yo daughter shopping!

Back again. How beautiful is the dress in tis month's Runway Inspired challenge!
The design team and guest designers have come up with some stunners!
I have used the Stampin up rose and tried to get the same
creamy orange colour of the Just Joey roses in our garden.
It is nearly Spring in Australia and I'm looking forward to the
colour that explodes with all the roses and Irises in bloom.
The background paper is Basic Grey and I have used a background
stamp on the leaves and BG paper.

Playdate Cafe challenge #144 & Case Study

I've been having fun getting very inky today. The challenge at Case Study Challenge
is to create something 'outside of the box', meaning outside of our comfort zone.
So today I decided to make a card using just inks and stamps (plus a stencil).

The challenge this week  at the Playdate Cafe is lots of fun - very bright, so I decided to combine these 2 challenges.

The main image is from Stamping Bella, called Jane Girl, this is designed by Jane Davenport
a mixed media artist. The sentiment stamp comes in the set.
For the background, I sponged Distress inks - mustard seed, dried marigold, wild honey and
picked raspberry. I used Hero arts Friend background stamp for the text, an unknown stamp
for the grass and an urban artist stencil. I've used liquid pearls on the punched butterflies.
I have machine  stitched a border with pink cotton.

I was happy with the sponging, until I took the card outside to take a photo, when it started raining!
Big mistake when you've used distress inks! I'm sure you can see the white spots!

I'm also entering this in the Scrapbook Boutique Challenge
which is to add a butterfly to your
creation.

A Triple Challenge

I've been racking my brain to decide what to do for the Case Study
challenge, which is to create a card using our signature style!
I nearly entered the card I made for this weeks's Tuesday Trigger, but
I wanted to make it specifically for the Case Study challenge.
However,  I've also been tossing ideas around for the Playdate Cafe challenge
and then I saw the challenge at City Crafters challenge, which was to
make a card using this image from the Graphic Fairy and I new what I wanted
to do.
I've realised my style is to include an image, with a bit of patterned
paper and some stiching and to include an embellishment.
It is usually clean and simple, mainly because I don't seem
to have the knack of clustering elements.

The red paper is from Websters Pages (it was pink but I used a bit of distress ink
to make it red). The mint coloured paper is from Kaisercraft. The image is of course from
the Graphic Fairy. I altered the colour of it it by  taking out some of the saturation
and then using copic markers. I printed it on canvas, twice, cutting one out and layering
the image. I love the look and feel of the canvas. The pin and ribbon are from my stash.

City Crafter - solid as a rock

It's been quite a while since I've made a card for the City Crafter challenge - I always think about it, but seem to miss the deadline. I'm cutting fine again today. The challenge this week is to use solid colour and no patterned paper. If you want to join in or check out
other entries click here.

I have used Hero Arts Large flower background and coloured
with water colour pencils and perfect pearls. I seem to be really
in to yellow at the moment.

I apologise for the poor quality photo, I really need to a few lessons,
but my camera battery is flat so I've taken this with my iPhone.

I am also entering this in the 'A blog named Hero'
challenge which a a freestyle challenge.

PS: I've been trying to change the appearance of my blog and every time it say
my changes have been applied, when I view the blog the background is still there!
I definitely deleted it and saved my change.
Does anyone have any tips or know  of a good tutorial.

Moxie Fab World - TYPE HYPE

I love the theme this week for the Tuesday Trigger - Type Hype.
I love all the gorgeous typewriter images that are appearing everywhere at the moment,
the difficulty was choosing  which image to use on my card! So I think you may see more than one card from me this week.

I decided to make a whimsical card and went for a Pink Petticoat
digital image - Quirky Querty. I coloured it with copic markers
and cut it out. I layered the second note behind for some depth.
The papers are fromPink Paislee and My Mind's Eye.
I used the sewing machine to add some red and then the paperclips and bow/
These colours make me feel warm and look forward to Spring,
which hopefully is only a few weeks away.

I've been very inspired by this weeks challenge. I love all things vintage and especially quirky vintage. I recently found this cute typewriter  card holder - I'm seriously thinking about getting myself a couple of these! I found them here.
