Runway Inspired Ric #35 Miu Miu

Hi everyone.

It feels like winter is just around the corner, today is grey and wet and I'm all rugged up. Consequently my Mojo is wavering today!  I had a couple of nice things happen though.  I won last week's Case Study Challenge which makes me happy, it is one of my very favourite challenges because there is so much talent and inspiration there! The other nice bit of news was winning a prize from Wida - some gorgeous brads from Heidi Sonboul.

Anyway, here is a card for the Runway Inspired challenge...

Can you see where I got my inspiration? The stripes for the dress and background and the dots on the little cakes for the gorgeous handbag!
This card is not very me - too girly, but I've owned this Hero Arts set for so long and I've only used it once!
I'm also entering this in the Simon Says Stamp Challenge - Flower Power and A Blog Named Hero - Clean up Your Act!

Case Study Challenge #140

Happy Mothers' Day to those who celebrate today!  Especially Chupa, who I'm sure is very happy today! Just a quick post as I'm racing off to see my son play footy and then to a family lunch.

This week's inspiration at the Case Study challenge is another beauty from Maile Belles.

I've used the ever popular Hero Arts butterfly stamp and the background stamp is from Just right
Stamps. I used antique linen and brushed corduroy to highlight the butterfly and white gel pen and enamel.

Simon Says stamp and Show - Inspired By

It's an absolutely glorious Autumn day here - more like an Indian Summer.
So I felt like making a happy, sunny card!

I just realised that I haven't been entering many challenges lately, except for Case Study, Runway Inspired and mostly MFW. So I had a bit of a blog browse and decided to make a card for the Simon Says Stamp and Show challenge, which is to make something inspired by someone else's creativity.

There are so many artists who inspire me, but there are 2  ladies in particular who blow me away where their amazing talent  with any colour media. I'm talking about Jennifer McGuire and Jill Foster.

Here is an example of their cards

These colourful cards are made by Jill.
This amazing card is made by Jennifer.

This is my card...

I just love this Painted Rose stamp from Hero Arts!
I need to practise a lot to get it looking as good as Jen McGuire's, but it looks gorgeous no matter what you do with it. I used distress ink and Sparkle n soft in the centre. The background card was inked with mustard seed yellow and then using a stencil was sponged with wild honey.

I'm also entering this in the Moxie Fab World Watercolour challenge as I did use watercolour on the rose  and A Blog named Hero challenge 'all that glitters'

Moxie Fab World TT - Pretty Little Petit Fours

I've finally got around to making a card for the MFW Tuesday Trigger.
I usually do a fairly literal translation of the trigger, but this time I decided I wanted to use my gorgeous Japanese papers, so the colours are different but I've still got the idea of the litlle squares and the flowers. I hope you like it!

I used my new Memory Box die for the 'happy', the 'birthday' is an old die. The wooden dragonfly is from Kaisercraft and is coloured with gold ink.

Case Study Challenge #139

Hi there. Today I've made a card for the Case Study Challenge. They have a very special Muse this month - none other than Maile Belles! Maile always has the most amazing, CAS  designs.

Here is the inspiration card for this week...

Well as you can see, I've used a very old stamp - Stampin Up 5th Ave for the rose and the sentiment is another oldie from my sentiment collection. The designer paper is from the AC Dear Lizzie Neapolitan collection. I used inktense watercolour pencils to colour the image an splatter the background.

I'll also enter this in the Moxie Fab World Watercolor Wonders challenge.

Another Baby Card for Aga

I decided to make another card for the Runway Inspired Baby Shower challenge, because I loved the inspiration and hey, you can never have enough baby cards - right!?
Congratulations again Aga on the arrival of your little girl, Helena. Can't wait to see the photos!

The image is from Pink Petticoat and I just had to add a little pink and of course gold sparkle.
This glitter is a pink/ gold - I just love it! I've mounted the card with foam - I really like this look at the moment, although I do find foam tape to be very costly.

NB: the photo was taken late afternoon, so the light was a bit dull, will try to get a better one tomorrow.

Runway Inspired - A Baby Shower and another Watercolour

I was very excited to hear that the gorgeous Aga from Runway Inspired design team has had a baby girl - named Helena.  Congratulations to Aga and family.

I adore every single card that Aga makes and when I think of her cards, I think of watercolour, so I have used the inspiration photo as well as incorporating watercolour into my card.

I originally planned for the card to portrait orientation, but when I took the photo it looked better as a landcape card.

The tag is from AC Dear Lizzy Neapolitan 5th & Frolic collection. I used distress ink pens and Twinkling H2os for the watercolour and gold glitter with glue on the tag. The baby sentiment was added with very old MM rub-ons!

It's been raining most of the day, so taking a photo was challenging, I prefer natural light.

I'll also enter this in the MFW watercolour challenge.
