MFW Another Watercolour Wonder & Case Study Challenge

I've been rater quiet on the posting and card making front lately. My Dad's been in hospital and I've been busy visiting him and helping my Mum. I also seem to have lost my Mojo this week. When I do sit down to create, my mind just goes blank, so I've just been playing around with different products.

Anyhow, I do have one card to post. I made this for the MFW Watercolour Wonder challenge and used the inspiration of the Case Study Challenge. It is JJ Bolton's last week as muse and her card is so gorgeous.

I adore the clouds in JJ's card. I'm not thrilled with my attempt of masking and sponging, but the overall idea is what I was aiming for. I recently bought this Urban Stamps image - which is weird for me because I don't usually do cute, but it is such a gorgeous set I couldn't resist this and another one.
When I saw JJ's clouds I knew this stamp would be perfect for my card.

Ric#34 Take 2 - Lest We Forget

Yesterday was a special day in Australia (and NZ) - Anzac Day.
It is the day we remember all Australians who served and died in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations. The spirit of ANZAC, with its human qualities of courage, mateship, and sacrifice, continues to have meaning and relevance for our sense of national identity. On ANZAC day, ceremonies are held in towns and cities across the nation to acknowledge the service of our veterans.

I was watching the various services on television - Canberra,  Anzac Cove in Gallipoli (Turkey) and France. They also interviewed veterans and told many stories of valour and mateship. It is definitely a day for reflection and with this in mind, I found myself making a card in memory of our service men and women.

The frame stamps are from Kaisercraft and have been stamped with Versafine black and clear embossed. The Poppy has been coloured with water colour pencil and copic marker and the centre hi-lighted with black enamel.

If you wish to play along with the Runway Inspired challenge click here.
I'm also entering this in the Simon Says Stamp Anything goes challenge.

Runway Inspired - Ric #34

Can you believe it? 4 posts in one morning!
This one is for the latest Runway Inspired challenge. There's nothing original with this one, but I love this stamp from Kaisercraft and I love B & W with a pop of red!

I hope you like my cards and even more so I hope you like my photos because I had a little accident whilst taking them!
I am such a klutz at the moment, I've had so many falls lately, since the stress fracture in my foot, which hasn't healed very well.  I was taking photos outside, but the breeze kept blowing the backing card over so I went inside for some glue dots, set it all up again and went to sit down.
Unfortunately, I'd forgotten I was kneeling and the chair wasn't there!
I already have a sore wrist from a previous fall, so I fell on my derrière!!!!
This last photo was taken quickly while I was crying with pain!

Watercolour Wonder Continued...

Are you still with me? This is my 3rd entry today for the Moxie Fab World Watercolour challenge....

For this card I stamped the image 4 times and then cut out the bottle twice and the bottle label on the 4th image.
The background is coloured with the same method as my last 2 card and the bottle is coloured with a water brush and distress markers. I've then used embossing tools to shape the bottle and mounted them on top of each other with foam squares.

I mounted the image on black card and added flower and seam binding bow.
Next I mounted this on Kaisercraft DP and a black card.

More Watercolour Wonder

Ok, here is my next card for the Moxie Fab World Watercolour Challenge...

This card was made using the same method as the first one and a selection of stamps from Kaisercraft. I then sprayed the card with glimmer mist for a bit of sparkle. The butterfly is die-cut with a Memory Box die and the background paper is from AC Dear Lizzie collection.

Watercolour Wonder

Well, I've been having lots of fun playing around with inks again this week thanks to the watercolour challenge at Moxie Fab World.  I must say that watercolour is my favourite style of art and I am envious of people who have the talent to just pick up a brush and paint! But that doesn't mean I can't
still have some fun of my own. So here is the 1st of my offerings....

For this card, I used distress ink pads on an acetate sheet and spritzed with water. I then 'walked' the stamp through the ink and stamped on watercolour paper, leaving it a bit longer than usual to absorb the watery ink.  The edge of the watercolour paper was sponged with distress ink and mounted on a black card.  The image stamps are from Kaisercraft and the sentiment is from Amy Tangerine.

Moxie Fab World - The Wonder of Water Colour

How exciting! Cath has got a new challenge at MFW and the challenge is to create something which incorporates water colour in an innovative way.  Let the fun begin! I think there might be multiple entries from everyone for this challenge!

For my first entry I have made a very very Sping-like card! Today is the 1st day I've pulled on my boots and cuddly knits and already I'm thinking about Spring! Actually I do like Winter so long as we get some bursts of sunshine every now and then.

I pulled out some of my old Stampin up stamps for the flowers and the butterfly is from Darkroom Door.

Case Study Challenge - JJ Bolton Week 2

This is a quick post as it's Monday morning and school has resumed, so I', busy catching up.

I made this for the Case Study challenge136.  I took my inspiration from the multi colours and inset die-cuts.
I'm also going to enter this in the Simon Says April shows/Spring Flowers challenge.

The paper is from the Christy Tomlinson She Art collection.
I die-cut the flower from the white card and replaced the
little pieces to keep the outline. Then I mounted that on the green card. Then I die-cut the flower twice from the DP, laid one on top of the green flower, with bits of the green still showing and the other flower to the side. I hope this makes sense! Next I added my favourite little bird!

Runway Inspired Red Valentino and MFW TT

This morning is the end of my crafting holiday! My dear Husband and daughter arrive back from Vietnam on Friday morning and I want to have the house looking fresh and clean. So today I have to
stop myself from cardmaking and get stuck in to housework!

So here is my last card before I go to work.... It is for the Runway Inspired Ric#33 and Moxie Fab World TT Magical Magnolias.  I'm also entering this in the Simon Says April Showers and/or Spring Flowers challenge.

My daughter would love the outfit from Red Valentino - it is just her style!

Have a great day everyone! I know I won't! But I'm going to feel so much better when it's done!
Maybe it's all the blog talk about Spring - I feel like a Spring Clean!

Case Study Challenge #135 - Week 1 with JJ Bolton!

Today I made a card for the Case Study Challenge, however it was one of those cards that seems to have a life of its own! You see it started out CAS like JJ's but I just couldn't help myself, those distress inks cried out for more! My idea was to make an Autumn card because it is such a beautiful balmy day today. I don't have any dies suitable for this technique, only the old fashioned dies with more than one letter on the die (might have to do some shopping!), so I used chipboard and an ombre effect to match the colour of the leaves.

This is Jj's amazing card and the inspiration photo:-

MFW - Home Decor Challenge - Spring No.2

Ha ha ha, I just realised I still have a bit more time to do some home decor - the time difference confused me. So here is another entry for the Spring challenge.

I don't think I can call this my creation, since the main focus is the beautiful
Dear Lizzy paper. The large butterfly is made with my favourite Memory Box dies.

MFW - Home Decor Challenge - Spring

Hi again! Firstly I have to say that I've had lots of fun creating off the page projects, thanks to Cath's challenge. The weird thing is that I've made something for each season except the one we're are are in - Autumn! The other strange thing of course is that living in the Southern Hemisphere we celebrate holidays in different seasons than most of you crafty people. For example Christmas is all about sun and beach holidays, Easter is during what you call Fall and Halloween is during Spring!

Anyhoo this is my last project, which is actually still a work in progress. The paint is literally still wet!

I had the canvas sitting there and saw the chipboard in my stash and thought they can either stay in my stash or I could use them!

I placed the chipboard on the canvas,  using it as a stencil,  I sprayed the canvas with dye and paint.
Then I used ink and paint to decorate the chipboard and a bit of paint for clouds.
I think I'll add a title or quote and a bit of texture, but I needed to get it in the challenge before the deadline.

MFW- Tuesday Trigger - Friendly Flowers

Happy Monday! It's still school holidays here and a beautiful sunny Autumn day.
This week's TT is one of those photos which evokes many ideas, but I only want to enter my favourites. So here is another one.

The metal flower embellishment was left over from Easter - it was an egg shape so I cut and bent it to make a circle shape. The sentiment is from PTI.
I used an embossing folder on the base card and a die to make the rose.

Moxie Fab TT Friendly Flowers

Yay, I've finally finished a couple of cards. It's been 7 days since my last post! Well. if you don't count the bauble in the previous post. Yes, I lost my mojo!!! I've never had so much crafting time - and I have been crafting, but I wasn't happy enough with anything to post it! My head has been spinning with so many ideas - I think I need to unclutter my brain!

So without further ado....

This card is for the Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger - Friendly Flowers challenge:-

This card is also inspired by the beautiful blue Bearded Iris we have growing in our garden - here is a photo.
Last season they flowered for nearly 7 months - usually they only last for 3 months.

Moxie Fab World - Home Decor Challenge - Winter

A Very Washi Christmas!

This is a very easy piece of home Decor, but fun to make. Last year my daughter was following a blogger who likes to do makeover of her room  each season and holiday. So Emma  decorated her room for Christmas - it was very impressive. I bought some plain baubles for her to decorate, but we ran out of time (as you do at that time of the year), so I've used washi tape to embellish one and  she can do the rest as she pleases. Join the fun at Moxie Fab World here.

Thanks for looking!
