Blue Poppies

Hi there. It's been a few days since my last post, but although I've not shared any cards, I have been busy practising with several different mediums and paper. My bin is pretty full, but this is one I am happy with...

I stamped the Poppies using Zig CCRB Markers and distress Inks. The poppies were coloured with Twinkling H2Os and Zig Markers  to get this vibrant and shimmery look.
I previously tried this on watercolour paper and it was ok, but I much prefer it on this paper, Canson Acrylic, because it gives more shine. The only thing is you have to be careful not to add too much water.
The gold script was stamped with Versamark and then I brushed Gold Pearl Ex powder of it, spritzing to set.
The dragonfly die is from Penny Black.

Once again I have used the colours from this month's Altenew Challenge - they just happen to be my fave colours!!!

Alcohol Ink Leaf Cluster

Here is another card I made last week when I was playing with Alcohol Inks. It is difficult to get a good picture with the gold highlights, but hopefully you can see how pretty it is.

The die is from Simon Says and the sentiment is from CASual Friday Stamps.

Come Chill

Hi there. This morning it felt like early Spring and so I made a card to reflect the weather and my mood. This afternoon it is more like Hot Chocolate and marshmallows weather! Gotta love Melbourne!

The stamp set is Concord & 9ths Sweet & Cool. I've used various Distress Inks and Distress Oxide to colour the Icy Poles (Popsicles).

Let's flamingle

I'm back with another fun card. I've had this Flamingo stamp set from The Ton sitting on my desk, begging to be inked up, for a few weeks and today was the day! I decided to pair the flamingos with the tropical leaves from Altenew to make a summery card for The Ton challenge.

So this card was all stamping - no colouring! I used Altenew Inks for the Flamingos and Altenew and Distress inks for the foliage.

Llama Love

Hi there! I was having a bit of a look through my 'unfinished' stash from oiur Bright craft retreat and came across these cute Llama and decided to make a card for the MFT Sketch and colour challenges.
I decided to use the MFT Peekaboo circle die for the sketch challenge and so I ended up making a shaker card, even though I find then challenging! The Llamas have been coloured with Copic Markers, the cactus were stamped on patterned paper, but then coloured with Zig CCRB markers and the coloured panel and background were sponged with Distress Inks.

I used Mft Llama Love stamp set and the sentiment is from CASual Friday Stamps.

Almost No Line colouring

I am giving myself a pat on the back  for using every stamp set I received in my last order from Altenew a couple of weeks ago!

We have gorgeous Bearded Irises growing in our garden so I had to have this stamp set to try to recreate their beauty. This time however, instead of using blue/lavender, I've used the colours from the Altenew challenge. I did find a pic of a teal Iris online, so they do exist and here is my version....

I stamped the images with various Distress and Memento Inks and also used Zig CCRB Markers on the foliage. I left the lines visible, because Irises do have veins . I used Liquitex Gold Acrylic ink for the flower centres and watered down for the background.

Happy Birthday Butterfly

I just remembered there are a few cards I haven't shared. This first one was using alcohol inks and a new die from Waffle Flower. The sentiment is not a stamp, but plastic tape, made to look like dymo.

This was one of my favourite backgrounds and I layered it with acetate to get a glossy look.
It has already found a home with a good friend who celebrated her 60th this week.

Another Indoor Garden

Here is another card made with Altenew's Indoor Garden Stamp Set....

This time the images were coloured with Altenew Inks and Distress Oxide Inks, using the 2/3 step stamping technique.
I can see lots of uses for the gorgeous set and I think I might get the other garden set too! The die cut background was made with a Tim Holtz die.

Indoor Garden

Hi there. Today I pulled out another new set from Altenew - Indoor Garden. This set is really fun, because 'it combines half-sketched images with half-painted images to create a clean and modern look'.

For my first card using this set,  I have water-coloured the images, but I have another card using all the stamps to get a mod 'painterly' look.

I used Zig CCRB Markers to colour the images and Acrylic Gold Ink for splatter etc.

And Another One...

Hi again. It appears this has been good therapy for me and I think my Mojo has well and truly returned:)

In this one I've used Jacquard Pinata Alcohol Inks (Baja Blue, Lime Green, Mantilla Black and Silver).
The mermaid is a Silhouette cut file, coloured with black ink and a glitter spray. The seaweed image is from an old set from Inkadinkadoo and the sentiment is from Avery Elle. The bubbles are from Winnie & Walter.  I decided to use the white gel pen to give it some pop - I'm not sure if looks good or not. I'm very happy with the background.

Still Obsessed!

If I was obsessed before, I'm even more so since I purchased the metallic alcohol inks!!!

In this card I used Jacquard Pinata Alcohol Inks (Senorita Magenta;Passion Purple;Mantilla Black and Rich Gold) and I blended with 100% Alcohol.

When the inks were dry, I stamped the butterfly from Stamper Annonymous and mounted it on white card base, finishing with the sentiment from Altenew.

Alcohol Ink on Vellum

This time I used Alcohol Inks on Vellum...

I've used Copics on vellum quite a lot, but this is the first time I've used Pinata. I was also excited to find the silver ink, which is really pretty. The feather die is from a magazine and the stamp is from CASual Friday Stamps.

Alcohol Ink Obsession

Hey there! So I noticed that the theme at CAS Mix Up challenge is to use Alcohol Inks and the last time I used them, I got slightly obsessed and it's no different this time!!! Once I start i can't stop myself, so I've got a few cards to share. This is the first one...
I used a combination of Copic ink and Jacquard Pinata ink on Yupo and then die cut the leaves.
The background stamp is from Kaisercraft and the sentiment from Altenew.
