CAS Mix UP Challenge

Hello there. Pinch and a punch and all that! Yes it's the 1st of the month and I'm very excited to be a Guest designer for the CAS Mix Up Challenge this month!

The theme for this month's challenge is Gelatos & Crayons and I had soooo much fun! I love a challenge that gives me an opportunity to pull out my old neglected supplies and have a play.

I laid a piece of Bristol card stock over a stencil and rubbed over it with a white (wax) crayon.  The I smeared some Gelatos on some yupo and using a dense damp sponge, picked up the colour and wiped it over the stencilled card stock. The I stamped some text in a few places using the Gelatos directly on the stamp and brushing with a bit of water. The bird has been coloured with Caran D'ache Neocolour 2 (water soluble) crayons. The sentiment from Stamplorations was stamped with Memento Ink. The background die is from Stamploration and the bird and leaf dies are from Memory Box.

Here is a link on the resist teqhnique and there are more video links over at CAS Mix Up.

I hope you like my card and if you would like to play in the challenge, you can get some inspiration from the rest of the talented Design team and enter your card here.

    8. I'd forgotten all about the idea of using a white crayon for resist. I used to keep one just for that. You've stepped up the technique with newer products and it's a beautiful result. Love the pretty blues and leafy die cut with bird. So pretty!

    9. This is so pretty Jenny! Love how you've used a white crayon to add a resist in the background. I have not tried that, but now want to because of your inspiring card. Love the soft colours of your gelato background and the gorgeous two tones of beautiful blue for your bird. Thanks so much for being our Guest Designer this month at CAS Mix Up! xx
