CAS MIX UP NOV Reminder

Hello there! I'm just popping in to remind you about this month's  CAS Mix Up Challenge!

This month is a Stencil themed challenge. Loll is our host and the prompt is 'Stencil Monoprint'.

There are some links to video tutorials on the CAS MIX UP blog and an explanation from Loll as to what she would like to see.

Please remember to keep your card designs Clean and Simple.

I used a hexagon stencil and when the monoprint was dry, I used the stencil again in the traditional way, sponging another shade of yellow. It was then trimmed the panel and layered with die-cuts and the stamped bee.

Stencil: TCW Hexagons

Stamps: Gina K Beautiful Bees
Dies: Stampin Up Meadow Stems

You can find more inspiration over on the CAS Mix Up Blog from our  Designer Team.  We hope you'll be inspired to join the challenge.

I'm also sharing my card at the following challenges:-

CAS MIX UP (August REMINDER 21)

Hi there. Just popping in to remind you about this month's  CAS Mix Up Challenge.  This month is a Stencil themed challenge. I'm hosting this month and would like to see you 'STAMP through your STENCIL'.

There are some links to videos on our blog to give you some inspiration. I found this technique worked best with fairly open stencils.  Please be sure and keep your card designs Clean and Simple.

I sponged some Distress Inks through the stencil and when dry, with the stencil still in place, I stamped the Background stamp using Delicata Gold Ink.  I spritzed this lightly to make the colours more intense.
Next I die cut the panel and mounted on. the kraft card.  To finish I stamped the sentiment, die-cut, adhered to card and added some rhinestones.
Stencil: The Crafter's Workshop 'Art Deco Leaves'
Stamps: Hero Arts 'Friendship Background'; Uniquely Creative 'Butterfly' (sentiment)

This month we are lucky to have two incredibly talented Guest Designers joining us Michelle from I Card Everyone and Bobby from Bits & PiecesYou can see their cards and more from our fabulous DT at the  CAS Mix Up blog.

Stencil Tracing

Hi there. a new challenge has begun at CAS Mix Up. It's a Stencil Challenge this month.

Nancy is our host this month and she has challenged us to try a fun technique - 'Tracing (outlining) Stencils'.

This stencil is a Julie Fei-Fan Balzer design from  The Crafters Workshop,  called 'Lotus Blossom'.

I used all of the layers and then outlined the the lotus with a black marker. I sponged the circle with Delicata Gold ink and the rest with Distress Inks, using make up blending brushes.
The sentiment is from Kaisercraft.

We have three very talented  Guest Designers this month! Greta, Sandie and Kia You can see their cards and find more inspiration over on the CAS Mix Up Blog.
