Vintage Mixed Media

Hello there! Happy October! A new month means a new challenge at the Mixed Media Card Challenge and this month we have a really fun theme.

I had a lot of fun making this card. I've been admiring this stamp  (Hero Arts Timely Bird)  for a couple of years now, but never actually bought it until recently when  I needed a bit of cheering up! I am in love with bird stamps!
I applied distress markers directly to the stamp, spritzed lightly with water and stamped on vellum. I backed the vellum with white card. Next I used some modge podge to cover some white card stock with the patterned tissue paper. I die cut both panels with a Lil Inkers stitched rectangle die ( more retail therapy). I dyed the seam beading with the distress ink and then put the little cluster together.

We had a wonderful response to our September Autumn theme challenge - it was very hard to pick a favourite!  You can see the wonderful inspiration from the design team here. I do  hope you'll play along this month!
Thanks for popping by!

I am entering this card in the Simon Monday Challenge - Finishing Touch.

  2. This is gorgeous! I can't believe the distress markers actually stayed on the vellum! I would have thought it would smear off but it looks amazing! Everyone needs retail therapy. I'm glad you got some :)

(for the glass I used acrylic to paint it, but maybe chalkpaint is better to sand it!)
