Coral Iris

Hi there. I should be in bed, so I must be quick!!!

I made a card for the Altenew Challenge.

I don't have the Altenew Tulip stamp, so I decided the Iris was similar and I thought it would be fun in this coral colour. I used ?Twinkling H2Os, so it's very shimmery:)

Gin Gin

I love this fun stamp set, designed by my friend Shirley Bampton for Stamplorations.

One of my favourite drinks and it's got to be with limes, not lemons!

CAS Christmas Birthday

Hello there. Today I made a card to celebrate CAS Christmas Card Challenge's 1st Birthday!

I had limited supplies, as I'm at a beach house and my blue ink was nearly dry:( Nevermind!
The stamp set is an oldie from Papertrey Ink called 'In the Meadow'. I kept the card very CAS.

PS: the sentiment is red - I might need to take another pic!

Teeny Tiny Critters

Hi there. I was inspired to pull out my Flora & Fauna stamps and make a card for this week's Simon Monday Challenge, where the theme is 'Miniature/Tiny Things'. I can tell you it was a real challenge to fussy cut the critters:)

I stamped the dome and foliage with various inks and coloured the background lightly with Zig Marker and water. Then I stamped the critters, coloured with Zig and fussy cut.  To finish I stamped and cut the tiny tag and mounted on watercolour paper and black base card.

Faux Stained Glass

Hi there. I have another quick post to share my attempt at the 'faux stained glass' technique inspired by this month's CAS Mix Up Challenge.

I used Zig Markers on acrylic card stock, which was probably a mistake, because when I put the Glossy accents on top, the colours moved. I used 4 die cuts to get the dimension.  I'm waiting on an order of Crystal Glaze, so I'll try that if it arrives in time.

The butterfly die is from Concord & 9th, the stencil is from Kaisercraft and the sentiment is from MFT Stamps.

It's CAS Mix Up's 3rd Birthday, so there is a random prize to be won and as always the chosen winner has the opportunity to be Guest Designer. So head on over to join in the fun.

Stencil Ghosting Technique

Here is another quick post to share a card for the CAS Stencil Card Challenge.

I sponged the watercolour panel with Distress Oxide Inks,  placed the stencil over the background and spritzed with water. The vital step is to quickly and carefully remove the stencil and use a paper towel to mop up any excess water. I found this worked better with some colours rather than others.

I thought the MFT Otter would look good on this background.

Twofer Balloons

I finally had some time to make some cards for the latest Twofer Card Challenge. The theme this month is 'BALLOONS' and my first thought was hot-air balloons.

I've had the balloon stamps for a few years. They are from Hampton Art.

The first card is a going away/travel card and I used distress inks. The sentiment is from Impression Obsession Stamps. I added a bit of splatter just for fun:)

This time I made a CAS card, stamping the biggest balloon with Delicata Gold Ink.
The Happy Birthday sentiment is from Concord & 9th and the other sentiment is from The Ton Stamps.

Boxed Blooms on Vellum

Hello there friends. I'm here to remind you about this month's CAS Watercolour Challenge, which I'm hosting. I chose 'Watercolour on Vellum' as the theme.

I stamped and embossed the flowers on the vellum and coloured wit Zig Markers and blended with water.  The Zig markers work really well on the vellum.  I then backed the vellum with white card and framed with black card diecut with  MFT dies.  To finish I stamped the sentiment and mounted the panel with dimensional tape. The stamps are all from Stamplorations.

If you pop over to the CAS Watercolour Blog, you will see the wonderful creations of our DT and 2 Guest Designers Ros & Birgit. I would love to see your creations too!!! You can enter the challenge here and there are some links to videos which may inspire you:)

CAS Penny Black

Hi there. I'm back with a mid-month reminder for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge. The theme this month is as always ANYTHING GOES or CAS CARD.

I didn't get a card made for the start of the month, so I have a twofer today.

I used the Allegro stamp set again for this card and used Zig Markers and lots of water to get this effect. The frame dies are from MFT/Dienamics.

I used an old wood-mount Penny Black stamp and Zig Markers for this card.

The challenge is open until 5 April and you have a chance to win a $20 voucher  from our wonderful sponsor 1-2-3 Stitch. You can see more inspiration at the Penny Black Saturday Challenge blog and enter the challenge here.

Watercolour on Vellum part 2

Hello there friends. I'm here to remind you about this month's CAS Watercolour Challenge, which I'm hosting. I chose 'Watercolour on Vellum' as the theme.

This time I used smooshed some distress inks on my craft sheet, using a small amount of water and pressed the vellum over the diluted inks several times until I was happy with the result. When dry, I stamped and embossed the sentiment and hearts. I used a thinner piece of vellum this time and passed it through my Bigshot, between clean white sheets of paper to correct the warping.

The cute Winnie & Walter birds are coloured with Zig Markers, the window die is from MFT/Dienamics and the sentiment is from Hero Arts.

If you pop over to the CAS Watercolour Blog, you will see the wonderful creations of our DT and 2 Guest Designers Ros & Birgit. I would love to see your creations too!!! You can enter the challenge here and there are some links to videos which may inspire you:)

Watercolour on Vellum

Hello there. It's the start of another CAS Watercolour Challenge. It's my first time hosting the challenge and theme I have chosen is 'Watercolour on Vellum'.

I tried a few different techniques, before I settled on this card...

I've never tried  watercolour stamping with penny black brushstroke stamps on vellum before, but the MISTI stamping tool makes it so easy, because you definitely need to stamp more than once.  I backed the vellum with white card and added the adhesive behind the stamped image.  The sentiment die is from Lawn Fawn.

I hope you'll  head on over to CAS Watercolour and check out the rest of the cards by the Design Team and by our wonderful Guest Designer,   You have until March 24th to link up your card - we can't wait to see what you create.
