Altenew Watercolours

So I did mention that I'm on an Altenew kick. This is my 3rd card for the Altenew April Challenge and guess what, I have another one made, which I might share tomorrow.

I really wanted to play with my new watercolours and I used a new (to me) substrate - Eraldo di Paolo Watercolour Canvas (which comes in a pad). I still prefer good quality watercolour paper, but like to try new things. I think it would be great for Mixed Media.

The beautiful stamp was given to us at the Altenew Workshop in Melbourne and is soon to be released.

Monochrome Lighthouse Blues

Just sharing a card I made a few weeks ago, but didn't get around to posting.

I stamped and embossed the lighthouse from Stamplorations 'True Blue' and then loosely coloured around the lighthouse and stamping the sentiment in gold.

Cherry Blossoms

Hi there. Happy Easter to everyone! I'm at our beach house and relaxing , which means I'm crafting:)

I die-cut the flowers from watercolour paper with Memory Box Cherry Blossom and Small Hydrangea. I then pounced them in diluted distress ink and Zig Markers. When dry, I shaped them with the end of a paint brush and constructed the blossoms with hot glue.  The leaves were cut with an Altenew die, using cordinating design paper. The paper strips are from Kaisercraft. I wanted to stamp a sentiment, but in the end I decided the die-cut looked better. This die is from Simon Says.

Subtle Colours and a Sketch

Hi there. I had a quiet weekend due to being under the weather, so I cheered myself up by making a card today.

I brushed the 2 layers of subtle colours with lightly diluted distress inks and then stamped the flowers from a very old (no longer available) stamp set (Flourishes Bees & Blooms). The sentiment is from Altenew.

I coloured the reverse of the white sequins with Altenew markers to get the matching subtle colour.

Altenew Obsession

Hi there. Since I went to the Altenew workshop last weekend, I've been a bit obsessed, playing with old and new products.

Here is another card for the Altenew April Challenge, using 'Vintage Flowers', 'Beautiful Day' and 'Garden Silhouette'. I also used Altenew inks, markers and Watercolour paints.

I also tried something new. I used silver Wink of Stellar to stamp the leaves and mixed a touch with the Caribbean Blue ink to colour the foliage. It's very shimmery. The flowers and leaves were cut by hand and the background die is from Tim Holtz/Sizzix.

Animal Antics

I recently received some gorgeous stamp sets from Craft Consortium, a UK papercraft company who also make stamps.  I couldn't decide which critter to stamp first, so I included them all:)

I stamped and coloured the images with Zig Markers and Distress Inks. I'm leaving the sentiment until later.  The stamp set is called 'Little Fawn & Friends'.

CAS Kindness

I've been making lots of CAS thank you cards for my sister in law and I loved pairing this fern stamp with the gorgeous 'handwritten' sentiment.

I stamped the fern leaves with Distress and blended with an Aquabrush.

Garden Silhouette

On Sunday I attended an Altenew Workshop which was totally awesome!!! Tasnim Ahmed (co-founder of Altenew) was in Melbourne for a wedding, so she and Therese Calvird (brilliant Altenew Designer) staged this fun event which was hosted by Michelle Stamps.

It was so exciting to finally meet Tasnim & Therese and many other talented ladies, including Gayatri Murali, Michelle Wallace and Aileen Ryan to name a few. I also re-connected with some of my old crafting buddies including Cecilia Hsieh and Michelle Lupton.

We got an amazing welcome pack, including some stamps which are yet to be released:)

Of course I couldn't resist adding a few more products to my Altenew stash and I made this card with my new stamps and inks.

I used Garden Silhouette for both cards. The first one was  made with Altenew Inks and Wink of Stellar and the second with Altenew inks and Zig Markers.

Impression Obsession Birthday

I decided to play along with the Impression Obsession Challenge, because I love my leaf dies ands it's Autumn here in Australia.

The theme is Birthday Wishes and I don't have an IO birthday stamp or die, so I cut up a couple of sentiment stamps, because I think 'warm wishes' is ok for a birthday.

I used a shimmer cardstock and unfortunately, the frame looks a bit blotchy in the pic, but IRL it looks pretty, a bit like watercolour.

Almost foiled!

It's the start of another week and already April is slipping by! Today I am sharing a card inspired by the photo prompt at Time Out Challenge and I added a touch of foil to meet the theme at Simon Monday Challenge I also added a bit of textured stencilling in the background inspired by CAS Stencil Challenge.

Like a few of the other people participating in CAS Stencil challenge, I found my embossing paste had dried up. To solve this issue, I used dimension paint and glitter. It's a bit on the grey side, but nevermind. The other problem, was that all my foiling supplies are at our beachouse, but I then remembered some copper foil tape I bought at a craft fair!

The stencil is from MFT and the butterfly stamp is from Kaisercraft. I thought the stipey butterfly echoed the blue stripes in the pic and I just sloshed on a touch of watered down pistachio distress ink.
