Watercolour Butterfly

Have you seen the pretty inspiration photo at Addicted to Stamps and More? I couldn't resist making a card, because I'm addicted to butterflies and these are my favourite colours.

I stamped the Penny Black butterfly using Zig Markers, blended on the stamp, firstly without water and then a few more times adding more colour and spritzing. Then I added water to the rest of the image and dropped in more colours.  The card was embossed with a die.
The sentiment is stamped with Delicata Gold Ink and I added lots of fine splatter.

Stamps: Penny Black 'Trio of Buttereflies' and 'Sprinkles and Smiles'
Die: Sizzix by Tim Holtz Mixed Media

Vintage Dragonfly

Hi there. I had a very crafty day today and this is lne of the cards I made...

This is a very old stamp set from Kaisercraft called 'Lavender Haze'.  I stamped it in black and then again on spare card stock and embossed with copper glitter powder, fussy cutting the dragonflies.  I used Sakura Glaze Pen to emboss the tiny Dragonfly.

Eat, Drink & Be Merry

I'm still inspired by the theme in the current Less is More challenge and I need to make lots more Christmas Cards, so I made this fun card ...

Stamps: Reverse Confetti, 'Bring on the Merry' ; Inspired by Stamping 'Chalkboard Birthday' and Imaginisce  'Gingerbread House'.
The stamping was easy, but the tricky part was fussy cutting the candy cane and other bits.

Hummer Twofer

I couldn't resist making another card for the Twofer Card Challenge, because I love critters!

A few months ago I made a card with these gorgeous Hummingbirds and I fussy cut the images. Well, much to my surprise, a few weeks later, I received a surprise gift from Darnell! She bought me the co-ordinating dies!!!  So thank you again my friend, for your thoughtfulness and generosity!

I decided to loosely watercolour the Petunias to reflect the colours of the birds.  I used Zig Markers and Twinkling H2Os, because I imagine Hummers must be shimmery.
Stamps:  Pretty Pink Posh 'Hummingbird Thanks' & 'Pretty Petunias' ; Penny Black 'Banner Sentiments'

I decided to make my second card a shaker, for something different, but was cursing myself during the process - it's definitely not my forte!
I made a smooshed background for the shaker with Distress Inks and Zig Markers.

The die is from Impression Obsession.
Stamps:  Pretty Pink Posh 'Hummingbird Thanks' ; Altenew 'Enchanted Iris'

Watercolour Die-cuts

It's mid-month reminder time at Penny Black Saturday Challenge and I'm sharing a card using some fabulous dies. The theme is ANYTHING GOES with an optional twist to use 'Something Old or Neglected'.

I used a stencil and Altenew Gold Spray to make the background.  The vase and flowers are from Penny Black 'Tall Flower' Die Set and coloured with Zig Markers and Aquabrush. The sentiment is from Penny Black 'Sprinkles and Smiles'.
To finish I added the twine bow around the vase.

Typography

The theme for the current Less is More Challenge is 'Typography' and I thought it would be fun to use my new Nuvo Shimmer Powders, which were a gift from my good friend Jenny Dix. The colours are really dreamy, which is a good match for the sentiment.

I stamped the Neat & Tangled sentiment and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. I sprinkled the powder on a craft mat and mixed with water, adding a bit at a time, being careful not to get the card too wet.
This was an easy one layer card.

Complementary Colours - Blue/Orange

Hello there. It's mid-month reminder time for this month's CAS Watercolour Card Challenge.

I'm hosting this challenge and I really wanted to create a card that blended the colours to show how when combined, complementary colours can tone each other down. I have many backgrounds in my stash now, because I was really fussy:) This is the final result...

I made a wash on Arches Smooth watercolour paper, using Daniel Smith and Peerless Watercolours and when dry, I die-cut the feathers. Next I die-cut the panel, using Penny Black Antique Frame,  stamped the Hero Arts sentiment and mounted the feathers. To finish, I matted this on a blue card base and added some splatter.

Cropped Image

It's the end of a busy weekend here. We're getting closer to the end of renovations and I can't wait for it to be finished!

The Irises in our front garden should be flowering soon and hopefully the Just Joey Roses will be good this year. Here is a card with flowers similar to ur garden...

This is a beautiful stamp set from SSS called 'Sketched Flowers', coloured with Zig Markers and Wink of Stella.  I really love the font of the sentiments.

Hi there. You know I can't miss the opportunity to include butterflies on my cards, so when I saw the theme at The Card Concept, I made this card...

I love this beautiful pair of die from Stamplorations. I coloured them with Zig Markers and Peerless
Watercolours. The sentiment is from a co-ordinating stamp set . To finish my CAS card I added som splatter and matted with a black card base.

Critters Twofer

I'm playing along with this month's Twofer Card Challenge and I decided to use a NBUS* stamp set.

The stamps are from Craft Consortium, called 'English Garden'

I used Copic Markers - I'm no expert, so I usually try to make it look like watercolour. The sentiment is from Hero Arts.

I was planing to use a tag for this card, but whilst browsing my stash I found this set from Neat and  Tangled, called 'Hand Stitched' and had a lightbulb moment!
I decided to add some hand drawn stitching around the fussy cut image, to tie it in with the embroidery hoop.

I hope you like these cute little critters - I had fun making my Twofer:)

Striped Leaves

This was my original idea for the Altenew September Challenge, but I'd misplaced the die. Today I found it and had fun getting inky.

I smooshed and splashed some Distress Inks on white card stock and added a touch of Brushos.
I die cut the Altenew Striped Leaf cover plate from beautiful handmade paper, adhered it to the background and then die cut the panel again with Stamplorations 'Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle' die.
To finish, I stamped the sentiment, cut a banner and mounted on a white card base with some sequins for added bling.

Autumn Ornate Bloom

This card is so different from my normal style and colour choices.

The stamp set is from Altenew and is called 'Ornate Foliage'.  I used Memento Inks,  Distress inks and Delicata Gold Ink. I used Patterned paper as a background and inked the edges of the pp and white panel.

Mixed Media Bird

Today I had a look through some of my Alcohol Ink panels and made this card...

I die cut the bird and the branch from 2 of the Alcohol Ink panels. To make the background I masked the sides of the panel with torn paper and then stamped the script with gold ink. The next step was to sponge the blue ink through the stencil and then stamp the sentiment.

Stamp: Stamplorations 'Fond Expressions',  Paper Rose Studio 'Carte Postale'
Die: Poppy Stamps 'Serene Bird'; Memory Box 'Woodland Branch'
Stencil: 'Faded Dot'
Supplies: Distress Inks, Delicata Gold Ink, Alcohol Inks, Foil,  Mica Powder
