Double stamped Vellum

Hi there Crafty Friends! Today I'm sharing an old make, which I never posted about. I'm playing along with my friends from Group of Seven Card-makers. They are focusing on Vellum and Embossing.

I began by stamping and heat embossing the butterflies on the front of the Vellum. Then I stamped the back with the purple pattern. I backed this with white card-stock, to whichI added some colourful splatters! These panels were framed with the black and white layers to make it pop and easy to adhere the Vellum.
Stamps: Inspired by Stamping Butterflies
Hero Arts - very old wood-mount background stamp.
The sentiment is from Altenew

I was excited to play  with some new Alcohol Inks from Couture Creations. The colours are amazing and the white is glittery.  I backed the vellum with some design paper, which is very subtle, but looks good IRL.
Stamps: Newton's Nook
Die: SSS Butterfly, not sure about the frame.

My (not so) Secret Addiction!

Hi there.  I've had a very productive card-making day. I've made a few more DT cards and I've been dabbling in a bit of Mixed Media, trying some techniques I've seen on Youtube.

I recently received the new Speckled Egg Distress Oxide and Distress Glaze Embossing Powders and I can't stop using them! I am so addicted that sometimes I just make a smoohed background, just to look at it!  So you can expect to see lots of Speckled Egg projects in the future:)

As you've probably noticed, I've been making lots of cards during this Covid Madness and I've become a bit bored of creating the 'same old, same old' ! So today I challenged myself to use some old stamps in a new way and to dabble in Mixed media. Here are some of the cards I made...

Made a smooshed background with Speckled Egg DO and dried.
Stamped PB 'Botanical Notes' on 2 corners & embossed with Speckled Egg Distress Glaze EP.
Stamped PB Diamond Pattern Background Stamp in other corners.
Stamped another old PB stamp with script over the diamond pattern.
Stamped PB 'Soft Wings on vellum papewr and embossed with Rose Gold.
Stamped the sentiment from PB 'Banner Sentiments' and mounted with foam tape.
Added sequins and pearls.
I was happy with the look, but in  retrospect, I shouldn'tr have embossed any of the bnackground, as it became a bit to bold.

Inked Kaisercraft stencil with Speckled Egg& Iced Spruce DO ink , spritzed & flipped the stencil over onto the card-stock, ink-side down & then covered the stencil with a piece of paper towel, to soak up excess ink.
When dry, I re-aligned the stencil and sponged Antique Linen DO.
I then sprayed a touch of Altenew gold ink for a bit of shimmer.
Die-cut Sizzix Poinsettia, spritzed with water, scrunched up and dried.
Shape petals with embossing tool and fingers and construct the flower.
Softly spritz poinsettia with Altenew gold spray.
Add pearl brad in centre of flower.
Wiped Delicata gold ink over embossing folder, spritzed and passed through Big shot machine.
Stamp PB 'Banner Sentiments' sentiment and put card together.

I'm sharing ath these challenges:-

Next I stamped the flowers and fussy cut.
I cut a notch in the top of the vase to insert the flowers and then arranged it all on the base card. I used glue behind the embossed bits.
The flowers and vase were coloured with Zig Marvkrs and Wink of Stella.

CAS MIX UP reminder

We're halfway through June (eek 6 months till Christmas!) so I have another card to inspire you for this month's CAS Mix Up Challenge.

Susan is our host and she wants to see 'Embossed Vellum' on our cards. There are various ways to achieve this, including heat embossing, using a stylus and/or using an embossing folder.

I have included heat embossing and also used a stylus on the flower petals.
I stamped the old Hero Arts background and embossed with Pearl embossing powder. The flowers were stamped and white embossed. I added shading with Copic markers and shaped the petals with a stylus.  The flowers are from Concord & 9th Wildflower stamp set.

We have the lovely and creative Bonnie as our Guest Designer this month. You can see her card and inspiration from the rest of the team at our blog.

Vellum Vase

I'm sharing a card for Altenew's June Inspiration Challenge. The colours are quite earthy and would be great for a masculine card, but I challenged myself to make a feminine card this tme.

To begin I stamped the leaves and vase directly on the white card. Next I stamped more leaves and the flower and fussy cut the images. I stamped the vase a second time on vellum, heat embossed and fussy cut.  I recently discovered Nuvo Aqua Shimmer  Glitter Gloss pens and blended the Zig Markers on the flower and and the vase. It's a pity the picture didn't pick up the shimmer - it is so beautiful!
Stamps:- Altenew 'Versatile Vases', 'Leaf Clusters' and 'Pen Sketched Flowers'
