Another Blue & White Card

Hi there! Just a quick post to share a card for the Just Us Girls Challenge, based on their Moodboard.

I was inspired by the gorgeous blue and white bowl and the butterflies to create my card.
The stencil is from Tim Holtz Mini Stencil Set #53 and the butterfly stamp is a very old favourite from Tim Holtz.

I'm also sharing at the following challenges:-

Sharing some oldies

 Hi there Crafty Friends!

I'm very slow with my creating at the moment and there's a lot of quality control happening. My waste paper basket is full of rejects! I've mainly been playing with PB Cling stamps and I want the results to be perfect - but I think I need to let that go!  Sometimes I find things I've thrown away and decide I really like it! Does this happen to you?

I also have a big folder of finished, but never shared stuff, so as it's a new year, I think it's time to whittle that down and share some. So here are a few.

I noticed on Loll's blog that the the GROUP of SEVEN Card-makers are playing with TORN EDGES, so it's the perfect time to share this card.
I used some of my coveted patterned paper and Pretty Pink Posh stamps to create a colourful scene.

Here is another way to create the look of a TORN EDGE - using a mask a sponging ink and stamping to create a Faux torn edge.

I used an Old Hero Arts stamp and a New Embossing Powder.
Stamp: Hero Arts Rose
Edging stamp from Kaisercraft

I'm sharing this at the following:-

I made this card during a class with Online Card Classes.
I stamped and gold embossed the an old fave Hero Arts background stamp and sponged some inks.
Then I cut the panel in to strips and randomly arranged them.
It's a fun technique and was new to me.
Stamp: Hero Arts Eucalyptus Cling Background
Pinkfresh Studio sentiment

The Card Concept #198 Summertime Fun

Hey there Crafty Friends! A new challenge has begun at The Card Concept and I'm sure you'll be get lots of ideas from our inspiration photo.

The background was stamped with Hero Arts Color Layering Waves and I used a Kaisercraft stamp to add texture to the sand.
The top right cushion reminded me of a threatened species beach bird we have in Australia, called *Hooded Plover. The chicks are so cute. I used a die from Amazon, coloured with Karin Markers.

I was inspired by the picture and colours to create a Clean & Layered Water-colour Card.

Remember, an inspiration photo is a starting point for inspiration. Will it be the colours, the overall theme, the texture, the actual items and/or something else that will inspire your card?

I hope you'll visit The Card Concept Challenge Blog to see what the rest of the team has created and will be inspired to play along in the challenge with us.

Choose a design style (or combine styles), create a card, and in your blog post, let us know what inspired you from the photo, what style and/or styles you chose and don't forget to display our inspiration photo and link back to our challenge :-)

THE CARD CONCEPT #197 A/B Industrial Modern or Nature Calls

Hi there Crafty Friends! It's time for the second challenge challenge of the month at The Card Concept which means we post 2 photos and you can choose which photo you prefer, or you could create two separate cards, one for each photo!

I was inspired by the first photo and colours  #197a to make a Clean & Layered Industrial style card.

I used a piece of patterned paper for the background and tone on tone stencilling for the blue panel. The typewriter was stamped with a Deep Red cling stamp. I fussy cut the image and inked the edges with Distress Ink.  The sentiment is from Visible Image and the stencil from Paper Rose Studio.

Remember, an inspiration photo is exactly that- a starting point for inspiration.

It's a Pink Day!

Hello there Crafty Friends!

The theme at  Pinkfresh Studio this month is all about 'SHIMMER & SHINE' , so I used Delicata Golden Glitz Ink. The images were coloured with Altenew Ink using the co-ordinating stencil.

Birthday Wishes

Here's another 'just for fun' card, inspired by the theme at a few challenges.

To begin I stamped the background with Delicata Gold and embossed with Ranger Gold Embossing Powder.
The beautiful roses were coloured with Twinkling H2Os and Nuvo Shimmer Powder, so it's very sparkly.

More Aussie Florals

I recently purchased a stamp from Hero Arts, which I 'had to have' the moment I saw it!

I stamped the image with Delicata Gold and then Coloured with Karin Markers, blended with Nuvo Glitter Gloss pen. There's lots of shimmer!  The die-cut was coloured with Altenew metallic paint.
Stamp: Hero Arts Eucalyptus Bold Print

I'm sharing at the following challenges:-

Gold, Red, Green

Hand-stamped image

I have a second card inspired by the colours at MFT Color Challenge...

I made a smooshed background, stamped some stars and fussy-cut them. Next I stamped more stars on the card and then placed the fussy-cut stars and sequins randomly.
To finish I stamped the sentiment and embossed with Silver-Pearl.
Stamps: MFT Stamps LJD Stars Above

NB: I apologise for the poor quality of the photo, but a Thunderstorm just started and the light is very strange.

Mixed Media /Stencil/ White on White with a touch of Gold

Hi there. I'm pretty much up to date with all my DT cards, so today I had a play.

First up is a Mixed Media Card. I wanted to use some crackle paste on this card, but when I opened the tub, I found it had dried up:( So instead, this is what I did...

I inked up a very old Flourishes stamp with Distress Oxide inks, liberally spritzed and stamped several times on the watercolour paper.

When dry, I randomly stamped part of an equally old Hero Arts
stamp with white ink and then embossed with Silver Pearl embossing powder.
The panel was then die-cut and the edges sponged with the darker ink.
The dragonfly was stamped with DO ink, blended with Nuvo Glitter Gloss Pen and fussy-cut.
The sentiment was  stamped on a die-cut panel.
To finish I arranged the dragonfly on some die-cut floral stems and layered with some twine and the sentiment.
Stamps: Gina K Beautiful Wings; Flourishes Bees & Blooms: Stampers Anonymous Natures Wonder;
Hero Arts friends Background
Dies: Stampin Up Meadow Dies; Penny Black Rectangle

My next card was a lot more simple and classic...

I began by die-cutting the leafy wreath and then liberally splattered it with Altenew Gold Metallic  Paint.
The white panel was embossed with an old Papertrey Ink Coverplate for a bit of texture. I then stamped the sentiment and sponged the edges with the gold ink. To finish The wreath was adhered with dimensional tape and some pearls added for a bit of bling.

Die: Poppy Stamps Adriana Wreath
Stamp: Kaisercraft

My last card was made with a kit from Uniquely Creative...

The background was stencilled with Distress Ink.
The flowers were stamped with black ink, clear embossed and coloured with Zig Markers.
The sentiment is made from wood and was covered in black ink and clear embossed to match the flowers.
I added some splatter and sequins to finish.

All Products: Uniquely Creative Teacup Builder Mini Kit
