Seize the Birthday - Surprise Guest #2

Hello there Crafty Friends! I'm back again with my 2nd card as Surprise Guest at Seize the Birthday Challenge. The theme for this challenge is 'BY the SEA' but the themes are always optional, so you can enter any card, as long as it's a Birthday Card.

I de-constructed a Penny Black die-cut so I could use the waves, sailboat and birds. The Lighthouse was embossed after cutting for extra definition and coloured with Zig Markers.
The background was made with Cosmic Shimmer Powder.
Dies: Joy Crafts Lighthouse, Penny Black Out to Sea, MFT Peekaboo Window
Stamp: oops I've forgotten:(

I hope you'll visit  Seize The Birthday blog for some more fabulous inspiration from the design team and then join in the challenge with us.

Some pretty Colours

Hello there. We're settling in to another 2 weeks of Lockdown and the weather is cold, so I'm staying warm in the craft room and was inspired to make this card today....

The images were coloured with Karin and Zig Markers and die-cut.  I used the edge die from the co-ordinating die set for the black border. The base card was die-cut from an old die from Papertrey Ink.
Stamps: Stampin Up Hand Penned Petals
Dies: Stampin Up Hand Penned Petals; Papertrey Ink Don't Forget to Write
Paper: Craft Consortium & Kaisercraft

Heat Embossing (Using Stencil)

Earlier in the year we had this technique as our theme at CAS Mix Up. I made this card at the time, but didn't share it, because it wasn't really CAS.

I used embossing paste and a various embossing powders randomly sprinkled over the paste. When dry. I heat embossed it.  The bird is stamped in black and clear embossed, coloured with Zig Markers and fussy-cut.
Stencil: Simon Says Stamp
Stamps: Inspired by Stamping (Bird); Clearly Besotted (sentiment)
Die: Penny Black

Shades of Blue and Twofer Dog Cards

I'm popping to share some cards I made on the weekend. I was slow to post some other cards and missed deadlines, so I'm making an effort to post as soon as I make them now!

First up is my entry for the last Twofer Card Challenge. Darnell has decided to make this final challenge, due to family health problems and changed priorities. I want to thank Darnell and her fabulous Team-mates for a fabulous 4 year of fun and inspiration.  Lots of hugs to you Darnell. 💕

I lots of fun playing with these Anita Jeram stamps from Colorado Crafts

I loosely water-coloured these images with, which were stamped on Bristol card.
I don't think my dogs would wait!

I masked the presents from the dog stamp and used another stamp set for the second dog to create this scene. I coloured the images with Prismacolor pencils. I'm no expert at this, but did have fun trying:)
Stamp sets: Colorado Crafts Christmas Presents; Colorado Crafts Watch This

My next card was inspired by the colour challenge at Less is More - I love blue monochrome!

At first I was going to white emboss the image, but some of the flowers were too small and it didn't look as good, so this image was stamped with Zig Deep Blue and then coloured with 3 other shades of blue.
Stamps: Simon Says Stamp Beautiful Mothers & Friendly Flowers

CAS MIX UP (August REMINDER 21)

Hi there. Just popping in to remind you about this month's  CAS Mix Up Challenge.  This month is a Stencil themed challenge. I'm hosting this month and would like to see you 'STAMP through your STENCIL'.

There are some links to videos on our blog to give you some inspiration. I found this technique worked best with fairly open stencils.  Please be sure and keep your card designs Clean and Simple.

I sponged some Distress Inks through the stencil and when dry, with the stencil still in place, I stamped the Background stamp using Delicata Gold Ink.  I spritzed this lightly to make the colours more intense.
Next I die cut the panel and mounted on. the kraft card.  To finish I stamped the sentiment, die-cut, adhered to card and added some rhinestones.
Stencil: The Crafter's Workshop 'Art Deco Leaves'
Stamps: Hero Arts 'Friendship Background'; Uniquely Creative 'Butterfly' (sentiment)

This month we are lucky to have two incredibly talented Guest Designers joining us Michelle from I Card Everyone and Bobby from Bits & PiecesYou can see their cards and more from our fabulous DT at the  CAS Mix Up blog.
