Aussie Style Christmas Part 1

I absolutely love making winter scenes and most of my Christmas cards reflect this, but living in Melbourne, Australia, it does seem a bit strange. So this year I'm making a concerted effort to make some Aussie style Christmas cards. Here is my first card ...

Kaisercraft have a gorgeous collection called 'Under the Gum Leaves',  so I have combined some of their cut outs with stamping for this card. I stamped the wreath and sentiment (which were part of a magazine freebie stamp set) and then arranged the Cockatoo and native foliage.

I'm sharing my card at the following challenges:-

Theme: CHRISTMAS

ANYTHING GOES

  1. So many of us are in the cold at Christmas and it must seem really strange to those of you in the Southern Hemisphere. This is an awesome card and perfect for sending to your Australian friends and family as well as any who live in warmth at Christmas!

  2. What a wonderful Cockatoo Jenny, and I love how you have perched him in the wreath and with some native fauna

  3. As a fellow Aussie, I agree that it does seem strange to create snowy Christmas cards as the temps rise! I just adore your Aussie Christmas card. A clever design with wonderfully coloured elements including that great cockatoo! Well done! I must do the same! LOL! Thanks for joining us at Watercooler Wednesday Challenge this week!
