CAS Watercolour 3rd Birthday

It's time for a new CAS Watercolour Challenge and this month Loll is hosting. She's challenged us to make a watercolour card with a Maple Leaf theme.

We're very excited that it's our 3rd  Birthday, so we're celebrating by giving away two $25 gift vouchers from SSS - one to the chosen winner and one to a random pick.

I looked through my supplies and did find a few small stamps that might be ok, but then I found a mask that I'd made a long time ago with the silhouette. So this is what I created...

The mask was sticky which really made this possible. I placed the mask on Arches 300gsm Cold Pressed Watercolour paper and then liberally washed water over the leaf and then sprinkled various colours of Brusho. Using a brush I blended the colours a touch to dissolve the crystals. When completely dry, I used an Awl tool to scratch the detail on the leaf and then I fussy cut the leaf.

The sentiment is from Winnie & Walter 'A Tree for all Seasons'.

You can see more inspiration from our talented Design Team and Guest Designer, Ros (Mikey's Mom) over at the CAS Watercolour Challenge blog.

I hope to see your creations in our gallery this month:)
