Christmas Card Event with Michelle

Hi there. I'm delighted to be joining in Michelle's 'Challenge me a Christmas Card' event again this year. Michelle has asked card-making friends to join her in the lead up to Christmas, by challenging her to make a card using a specific style, theme, technique or product.
I challenged Michelle to make a Watercolour Christmas Card.

Here is my card...

I stamped the distant trees with Broken China & Shaded Lilac Distress Inks, using lots of water.
For the trees in the foreground,  I used Broken China And Faded Jeans. I added a light wash for the sky and snow with Weathered Wood and Zig Marker Dull Blue. The sentiment was stamped with Versamark and Silver embossed, but weirdly, this watercolour Paper seems to absorb the ink and powder.  Some of the snow was stamped and embossed and some was added with the Sakura Glaze Pend and embossed. I'm in love with the Blue & Silver combo.

Stamps:- Newton's Nook 'Whispering Pines' ; Papertrey Ink 'In the Meadow'
Dies:- MFT 'In & Out Diagonal Stitched Rectangle,  IOS 'Trio of Deer' DIE080-N

Well, that's my card. You can see Michelle's card at her blog "Handmade by Michelle'

I'm sharing my card in the following challenges:-

  4. Love your cards Jenny - a fabulous use of the watercolours. I too have found that watercolour paper sometimes absorbs the ink and melted embossing powder...
