The prompt this month is 'CIRCLES/BUBBLES'...
I remembered a stamp set I purchased several years ago from Clearly Besotted, that I just had to have, but remained neglected until now:)
The stamp set is called 'Scientifically Speaking' and I used the bubbles in both cards.
I recently treated myself to some expensive Watercolour paper and a sample set from Daniel Smith, so I thought I'd test some of the colours on my cards. I love the organic feel to these paints.
Card 1/ Stamps: Clearly Besotted 'Scientifically Speaking'; MFT 'Otterly Love You'; Kaisercraft (seaweed)
I stamped the bubbles several times, using a Zig Marker, with a bit of masking.
Card 2/ Clearly Besotted 'Scientifically Speaking'; Altenew 'Garden Grow'
This time I stamped and white embossed the bubbles. I didn't think they stood out very well against the background, so I outlined the bubbles with a black marker. The shelf is part of the table image from the Altenew stamp set.
Here are the rules...
I hope that you will visit the Twofer Card Challenge blog to see more inspiration and join us in this month's challenge!

Your little otter scene is adorable, Jenny ... the background is so detailed and dreamy! Those flasks bubbling away on their shelf are so fun ... and what a cute, punny sentiment! Thanks so much for inspiring our players as our Guest Designer at Twofer! Anita :)

Oh my goodness, I am so loving both of your twofers! I love the otter scene, he is just so cute sitting at the bottom of the lake putting off those bubbles. Then there are the lab bottles, how fun are they?! Would make a great Halloween card as well, but I am loving it as an encouragement card. Your watercolor looks amazing too! Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteSo wonderful to have you joining us as a GD this month Jenny, and your cards are wonderful!! Both of your cards are just delightful, Jenny! I love when a "gotta have" stamp set comes out to play. Your watercoloring is wonderful and I love how you used the bubbles in two very different ways! Thanks so much for being our guest designer at the Twofer Card Challenge
ReplyDeleteSweet bubbly cards, thanks for guest designing with us for Twofer Card Challenge.
ReplyDeleteTwo fantastic cards Jenny! Your watercoloured backgrounds are both gorgeous and I love the sweet underwater scene you've created. Fun! Another fun card with the chemistry set ... I wonder what's cooking there. :) xx
ReplyDeleteThank YOU for being so supportive and being a Guest Designer for us this month, Jenny! I love that you chose bubbles and used them in such creative ways with your science lab and your undersea habitate for that sweet otter! Aren't they really the best critters on earth ~ I mean, besides our own personal pets, of course, lol! Your coloring is fabulous with your new paper and paints! Take care! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteThese bubbles are such fun, Jenny! The otter is adorable and he looks like he's enjoying being under the water! I love how you've lined the beakers up on the shelf and it looks like magic is happening in them! Two great cards! Congrats on your DT post!
ReplyDeleteYour cards made me smile, Jenny. I was immediately struck by that incredible under-the-sea background of your first card - very, very cool. And that little critter is 'otterly' adorable! So clever to put those beakers and flasks on a shelf, too! I'm not sure I'd even think of that!! These are two wonderful cards, and I am so glad you joined us as Guest Designer at Twofer this month. Thanks for your inspiration. Bev
ReplyDeleteTwo great cards for the challenge. Your little sea otter is adorable and your science flasks are perfect for the second card. It's great to being GD with you.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on guest designing at Twofer, Jenny! Just love both of your cards - sweet otter relaxing in his "home" and the fun trio of beekers; two great uses for bubble stamps!!
