CAS Colours & Sketches Double Challenge #435

It's the fifth Tuesday of March, and that means it's a Double Challenge!  We're throwing back with a trio of retired Stampin' Up colors and one of our past sketch challenges, combining them into one color and sketch challenge.  Bhavya is our Host and has given us a wonderful double!

I made masks with circle dies and sponged the blue circles and stamped inside the circles.
The adorable Anita Jeram image was coloured with Zig Markers and die-cut.
Stamps: Colorado Crraft Coffee House; Kaisercraft backgrounds

I hope you'll check out the CC&S blog to see what the rest of the design team and our  Guest Designer have created.  We hope you'll be inspired to make your own card, which needs to be linked to  the challenge post by 6:00 p.m. Eastern time Monday.

One Layer Spots

I was feeling a bit uninspired this morning, so I searched through some challenges to find something to jumpstart my creativity. The theme at  Less is More Challenge sparked my interest and I made a couple of cards.

I made a rough circle mask for both cards, by tearing a hole in a piece of paper.

I lightly sponged Distress Oxide Inks (Salved Patina, Peacock Feathers & Blueprint Sketch).
Next I used a stencil to add spots. Then I stamped some underwater elements (with the mask still in place).
Stamps: Kaisercraft Mermaid Tails; Stampin Up Whale Done
Stencil : unknown
I followed the same method for this card, but kept it more CAS and just used Salvaged Patina and stamping one image.
Stamp: Kaisercraft bird; Simon Says Stamp Sympathy Greetings

Autumn Leaves with Strip Sentiments

Hi there Crafty Friends. I'm still on an inky kick and today I decided to revisit a technique I say on Splitcoast Stampers - Layered Batik Resist

So the idea with this technique is to emboss the images (solid images are best) on white card and clear emboss. Then sponge with the lightest colour ink. When dry, stamp some more and clear emboss. Repeat with darker inks each time.
When finishes, use a hot iron with baking paper to remove the embossing.
It really looks amazing in real life!

Stamps: Gina K Autumn Silhouettes
Die: MFT

White Focal Point

I had fun today just making a few different panels that will eventually find there way on cards. Sometimes its fun to just play with old and new products for absolutely no purpose!  I decided to use one of these panels on the following card.

I used Memory Box Pinpoint Leaf Plate on the centre panel and then smooshed it in a mix of Nuvo Shimmer Powder and Cosmic Shimmer Powder. Next I layered an old Memory Box die for the black foliage and the gorgeous Freesia die, which was cut twice.
The white frame was die-cut with the larger frame from Memory Box Delicate Pine Frame.
I decided not to add a sentiment, because I wanted to keep it as CAS as possible.

Christmas Card Throwdown (August Theme)

Hi Crafty Friends.  I am your hostess for August at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge.

It's time for the Theme Challenge.  I have chosen 'BIRDS' as our theme, because I love them:)

This is a bird stamp I've neglected, despite it being beautiful. My Misti stamping tool tool helped me build up the colour and then I added more directly with Zig Markers.  The background was smooshed with Distress Oxide Inks. The die-cut foliage was coloured with markers and then I sprinkled a touch of Distress Embossing Glaze and heat embossed.

Stamps: Darkroom Door Robin; Colorado Craft Sentiment

Dies: Tim Holtz Holiday Greens

I hope you'll visit the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown blog to see what our talented Guest Designer, Lucie and the rest of the team created for this theme and then be inspired to join in the challenge!

Slimline Floral Card

I never get tired of colouring this floral stamp and this time I I thought it would look good on a slimline card.

I stamped the image with Deep Blue Zig Marker and coloured with Zig & Karin Markers, blending on the page with water. The large sentiment die was coloured with Olive Green Karin Marker. I quite like the use of blue , instead of black.
Stamp: Simon Says Stamp Beautiful Flowers
Dies: Simon Says Stamp Beautiful Flowers;Pink Fresh Fancy Diagonal Stripes; Papertrey Ink Don't Forget to Write
