52 CHRISTMAS CARD THROWDOWN 'FEB 22 (TECHNIQUE)

It's the last 52 CCT challenge for February and our host Andreja wants us to  'PAPER PIECE' with stamps for our Technique Theme. See the video link on our blog for inspiration.

I've been admiring this adorable stamp for a long time and decided to purchase it for this challenge:)
It was a little bit fiddly to fussy cut some of the smaller bits, but I like the final result. I edged the cut pieces wth black marker for more definition.
Stamp: Stamping Bella Bundle Girl
Papers: Kaisercraft

I hope you'll visit the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown blog to see what the rest of the team created with these colours and then be inspired to join in the challenge!

Timeless Poppies

I recently indulged in some more Daniel Smith Watercolour Paints and I'm totally in love with the pinks! So I pulled out my paints, my Baohong w/c paper and fave brushes and had a play.

I stamped with Delicata Gold Ink and embossed with Antique Linen Distress Embossing Glaze.
This is the second attempt.  I didn't emboss the first time around, but I got impatient waiting for the paint to dry and so I started again. The embossed lines allowed me to paint more petals without waiting.
I fussy cut the image , layered it over the die-cut panel and splattered with Altenew Metallic Paint. To finish I added the sentiment, sequins and mounted on the textured kraft coloured card.

Karin Markers Colors Contest (Feb '22)

Hi there. I discovered the Karin Markers challenge on Instagram and was inspired to make a couple of cards with their chosen colours.

I stamped the butterflies with Karin Markers and blended on the page with an Aquabrush. I also touched up a bit with the marker to add depth. I randomly added some black highlights.
I actually had to do this twice, because I smudged the ink when I was trimming! So I decided to fussy cut the large butterfly and layer it to make it 3d.
Stamps: Penny Black Trio of Butterflies
Karin Brushmarker Pro - Lipstick Red, Cerise, Pale Pink
Arches Watercolour Paper Hot Press
The pink looks a bit orange when diluted:(

This time I used a die from MFT - cutting it in black and Baohong Watercolour paper.
I coloured with the same markers and spritzed with water. When dry I constructed the hearrt. I then added the white border with the die in place to keep it even.
Die: MFT Geometric Heart
Sentiment Stampin Up

The pink looks a bit orange when diluted:(

Birthday Wishes

Here's another 'just for fun' card, inspired by the theme at a few challenges.

To begin I stamped the background with Delicata Gold and embossed with Ranger Gold Embossing Powder.
The beautiful roses were coloured with Twinkling H2Os and Nuvo Shimmer Powder, so it's very sparkly.
I stamped, embossed and partially die-cut the sentiment.
Stamps:  Pinkfresh Studio Garden Roses; Hero Arts Background stamp

ALTENEW INSPIRATION CHALLENGE (Feb '22)

TI love the gorgeous picture, with lovely fresh colours for this month's Altenew Challengeso I was inspired to create this card...

I stamped Altenew Pen Sketched Flowers on the white card and coloured with diluted Karin Markers. I scribbled the marker on my palette and picked up with a watercolour brush. I shaded the flowers with Zig markers -  the lightest shade of blue and green.  Then I used the gorgeous Spellbinders Venise Lace Hemstitch Die.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set.
To finish I mounted on a black base card and added some sequins.

I'm sharing at the following challenges:-

I loved this colour combo so much, I made another card, this time on Baohong Watercolour paper and using Daniel Smith Watercolours as well as Karin Markers.

I used Altenew Beautiful Day for this card. I may add a sentiment at a later date, but like to leave some cards blank for flexibility. A bit of fussy cutting was involved and the rectangle die is Penny Black Antique Frame.

Cone Flowers

Hey there! It's been a while since I've made a card exclusively for a challenge, but today I took a break from DT stuff and created this colourful card...

I stamped the flowers with black and coloured with Zig & Karin Markers . The background from the same set as the flowers , was stamped repeatedly with Karin Markers, spritzed and Nuvo Shimmer powder added.
By the way, the base card is blue and the foliage is coloured in blue. It's a bit hard to show in the photo.

Stamps: SU Nature's Harvest , Honey Bee

The embossing folder is from Ultimate Crafts.

CAS MIX UP FEB '22

Hello there.  It's time for a new CAS Mix Up Challenge!

This month is a Mixed Media themed challenge. Susan is our host and the prompt is 'Faux Cloisonne'. This is a new technique for me and I had fun!

There are some links to video tutorials on the CAS MIX UP blog and an explanation from Susan as to what she would like to see.

Please remember to keep your card designs Clean and Simple and include stamping and one other Mixed Media element.

I didn't have too many magazine's on hand when I made this, but I found a great pic in a Craft
Stamper Magazine which had just the right colours.
I stamped the leaves on the magazine, gold embossed and fussy cut.
Stamps: Stampers Anonymous Nature's Wonder

Can you see the Eiffel Tower hidden in the leaf?

You can see more from our fabulous DT at the CAS Mix Up blog.
I hope you will be inspired and join in the challenge!
