Festive Friday - Include a wreath

What a lucky coincidence - I was playing around with a pine needle stamp, I cut it up actually, in order to make a wreath. So here is a card for the Festive Friday Element Challenge #20.

The pine branch is from Inkadoo and the sentiment is from Kaisercraft (I wish they hadn't put the full stop there - it really annoys me!) The deer is from Scrapmatts.

Scrapbook Boutique Challenge - Halloween - DIY Bat

I'm still having issues with nearly no internet - hopefully the new month will start today or tomorrow!

Here is a card for the Scrapbook 'Bootique'  Halloween challenge and the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge and the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - spooky.

This is paper from a few years ago and I drew and cut out the bat, then covered it with sparkle n soft powder and added the eyes.

Case study challenge week 4 Elena

Hi , this will have to be a short post as the internet is excruciatingly  today. I'm enjoying casing Elena's creations so much! Here is my entry for this week's Case Study challenge.

Both the butterfly and sentiment are from Penny Black.

Muse Card Challenge - Had to play along with Darnell!

Time for another play at the Muse Card Club - challenge #40. What a wonderful, serene card by Darnell and for a very important cause - Breast Cancer Awareness.

This is Darnell's card...

And here is mine...

The designer paper is from Meg's Garden and Kaisercraft and the Painted Rose stamp is from Hero Arts.
ETA: I decided to make an envelope for the challenge at A Blog Named Hero.

Another Arty Card!

I thought I'd make another card for the MFW Tuesday Trigger - Enthralled with Fall, this time using leaves.

I was trying to get a sense of movement by using the splash of colour across the card and the flurry of leaves.
The leaves were cut with IO dies, coloured with distress inks, stamped with text for a bit of interest and then spritzed with Perfect Pearls for a bit of shimmer.

Runway Inspired Ric #46 L.A.M.B.

I just love the colours in the current Runway Inspired challenge - I did have a bit of a chuckle about the name of the collection!

I think it's obvious where I drew my inspiration - I took the black & white rose pattern from the skirt and the soft airbrushed look of the background.
The image is from Kaisercraft and the sentiment is from Stamp It!.
I used watercolour pencils, a dropper and spritzer to make the background.

I'll also enter this card in the Tuesday Trigger, because the colours match, although my card is more Spring than Autumn.

And Another 2 Balsa Wood!

I'm definitely on a roll here! I have another 2  cards for the MFW Metal, Wood & Cork challenge.
Actually it is 2 variations, using the same tag. As you may have noticed, red is the colour of the day!
This time I combined wood and metal.

                                                                       Card 1

Card 2

I think the tag stamp is from Urban Stamps. The black tape was a fun find in a gift shop yesterday.
In case you can't see, I stamped the tag image on balsa wood and then cut it by hand. I stamped it a 2nd time and then cut out the heart  square and mounted it on the tag. I've had the key for quite a while - it's very pretty.

Moxie Fab World Metal, Wood & Cork Challenge

Here's another Christmas card for the MFW Metal, Wood & Cork challenge.

I found this wooden reindeer in the local supermarket and thought it would be cute on a card.
I coloured it with Faber Castell Pitt white marker, for a white washed look. The paper is from AC, very old from my stash. The sentiment was stamped with an old foam stamp.
I'm also entering this in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge - Christmas.

Balsa Wood love!

I'm doing very well with my Christmas cards this year. I'm trying to get myself in the mood as it's hard to be enthusiastic when my Dad is so sick.

Here is another card for the MFW Metal, Wood & Cork Challenge. I decided to try stamping with Memento Luxe inks on Balsa Wood - it works really well.

The wreath of leaves stamp is from Hero Arts so I'm entering it in the Hero Arts Holiday challenge - My Favorite Things category.

I'm also entering this in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge - Christmas.

Case Study Challenge #162 Week 3 Elena

Happy Sunday everyone! Whilst I sit here typing my DH is cooking poached eggs for me! Gotta love that!

Check out the amazing inspiration from Elena for this week's Case Study Challenge.

And here is my take...

The stamp is from Penny Black - I can't remember whether it was from last year or the year before, but when I bought it, I wasn't sure how to use it to the best effect and did  a bit of colouring in, but now I see that it is much more effective as a silhouette. The sentiment stamp is an oldie from Stampin UP.

I'm also entering this card in the MFW Color Media Challenge and the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Christmas.

Moxie Fab World Colour Media Challenge

I see the deadline for the  Moxie Fab World Handmade Cards Challenges is coming up soon, so I thought I'd make a few more cards.

This one is for the Colour Media Challenge...

I have used the Penny Black Lace trims stamps and Distress inks to make the background. The sentiment is from PB Setimental set and the boy/girl stamp was a freebie from a magazine.

Festive Friday #19

I just found this great new challenge which has a wonderful design team and will also help me be inspired to make holiday cards. Yay!

So here is my first card for the Festive Friday challenge.

This is very simple, but I thought the images were kinda whimsical!
The stamps are from Kaisercraft and the ink is memento Luxe (yes I'm addicted!).

Moxie Fab World General Craft Supplies

I saw this gorgeous fabric applique in Spotlight and thought it would be perfect for  a card embellishment. I decided that the delicate, folky florals would look great against the rustic brick paper. What do you think?

The paper is from Kaisercraft. The chipboard letters are from American Crafts - I swiped them with ink and clear embossed. The pink letters were die-cut from craft foam.
I made this card for the Moxie Fab World General Craft Supplies Challenge.

Moxie Fab World - TT - Apache Tears

I just love the inspiration photo for this week's Tuesday Trigger. The colours are so rich and the texture so fun!

I decided to use a stencil and Pan Pastels. Here is my result...

The sentiment is from Kikki K and the wooden speech bubble is from Kaisercraft. I am also entering this in the MFW Colour Media challenge
and Cork, Metal and Wood challenge.

Muse Card Club #38 with Therese Calvird as Muse

Hi everyone, it's a very silly, but mostly sunny Monday morning and both my kids are back at school after what seemed like very long holidays! I've made a card for the latest Muse card challenge - I love everything Therese creates!

I have used a very old, but favourite stamp for the vase and My Favourite Things dies for the rolled roses. The sentiment, leaves and other foliage are using WPlus9 Fresh Florals.

ETA - I'm entering this in the Simon Says Stamp Wedneday Challenge - to use a rubber or clear stamp - I used both.

Moxie Fab World Stickers and Tape Challenge

I needed a quick card for a teenage girl party and remembered these gorgeous Penny Black Stickers I received when I was doing the collabo with Jill Foster. I thought that would be good for the MFW challenge.

I used Pan Pastels on canvas paper. I then stamped a random background pattern in versa mark and went over it again with the Pan Pastels. Next I stamped the sentiment and die cut the circle. Then I attached it to a die-cut circle card and added the Penny Black Stickers.

Case Study Challenge - Elena week 2

As soon as I saw the inspiration photo for this weeks Case Study Challenge, I was inspired to make my own Babuska/Matryoshka doll!

I googled Matryoshka Doll and found a template, which I used for the basic shape and changed things around a bit.  The paper is from my Mind's Eye and Kaisercraft. The floral stamps are from Wplus9 and Papertrey Ink and the sentiment and banner are from Taylored Expressions.  I was intending to use a bow, but then found the heart on my desk - serendipity!

I am also entering this in the Moxie Fab World General Craft Supplies challenge.

Runway Inspired Take 2

I loved the Memento Luxe inks so much I wanted to use them again, so I decided to use my new Lawn Fawn stamps to make another card for the Runway Inspired challenge.
I'm also entering this in the MFW Colour Media Challenge.

This is a really fun stamp set. The only stamp not from Lawn Fawn is the 'what a" sentiment, which is another oldie.
It's overcast and drizzly outside, so I had to take the photo inside, which made the blue look more like black.
When I started stamping, I had a 'ding' moment and thought I could use the exclamation mark for stripes.

Runway Inspired Challenge

Something happened this afternoon to cheer me up - I recieved a box of Memento Luxe ink pads , which I ordered from Blitsy at an amazingly good deal (everything is more expensive in Australia).
Thanks Michelle for the tip!

So I decided to break out the inks and make a card for the Runway Inspired Challenge and the Moxie Fab World Colour Media Challenge.

Don't look too closely at my stamping - it's definitely not perfect! I must admit that I struggle with graphic cards.
Oh and just for the record the smaller enamel dot on the bottom is pink, so I may have to retake the photo in daylight. The triangle stamps are from My Favorite Things Trendy Triangles and the sentiment is very, very old.

Case Study Challenge #160 Elena Roussakis is the new muse!

Just a quick post, because I'm feeling a bit fragile today - not to talkative! Nothing too different - just trying to cope with my Dad being so ill and not wanting to be here any more.

Elana is the new muse at Case Study this month. I just love her fun, CAS and creative projects.
Here the gorgeous inspiration for this week ...

And here is my card...

I took the inspiration of the colours - ie aqua, red and yellow, although my shades are different and the use of patterned paper. The balloons represent the bunting. The paper is from Kikki k. I used Penny Black dies and the sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.

I'm also entering this in the Moxie Fab World General Craft Supplies Challenge.

Golden Thanks!

I've had this idea in my head ever since Cath set us the challenge to use gold. I wanted to use gold foil on a card. I bought some foil the other day, but it turned out to be more plastic than foil! So then I remembered I had some gold leaf, which is really multi coloured - in fact perfect Fall colours. So this is the result...

I die-cut the leaf from gold paper, swiped it with versa mark ink, sprinkled Stuck on You bonding powder on the leaf, heat set and then rubbed the gold leaf over the the die-cut. I decided to run it through the Cuttlebug again to get the definition of the leaf.
It would have been quicker to leave the die-cutting till last, but I didn't want to waste the gold leaf.

I wonder if this is my last card for the MFW All that Glitters is Gold - I am definitely addicted!

Another Gold card!!!

I made this card when I was doing the collabo with Jill Foster, but didn't post it that week. I decided I should enter it in the MFW All that Glitters is Gold challenge, well, because there's a bit of gold in this card!!!

The lace stamp and the Iris die are from Penny Black. The sentiment is from Taylored Expressions.

MFW Colour Media Challenge and All that Glitters is Gold

Here is a quick card for the Moxie Fab World All that Glitters is Gold challenge, which finishes today.
This painting was my inspiration

And here is my card...

I coloured a piece of white card stock with gelatos, then when it was completely dry, I used a stencil and a gold ink pad to add the dots. The final touch was to brush perfect pearls over the dots and spritz with water.
The dragonflies were made with a Penny Black die.
I'm also entering this in the MFW Colour Media Challenge.

Belated WCMD

I went away for a couple of days and took limited supplies, just some cards, ink pad, a few stamps, twinkling H2Os and distress markers. Lucky I didn't take much, because my mojo went away too!
This is the only card I made...

The stamps are from Kaisercraft. I do love just stamping and colouring with distress markers and an aqua brush - so relaxing! I wish I was able to sketch my own images, but not I'm not brave enough.
I stamped the music script over the image to add some interest.
I'm entering this in the MFW Colour Media Challenge.

Tuesday Trigger - Take 2/ Muse Card Challenge -

I had a sudden urge to make another card for the Moxie Fab World TT - A Fine -Toothed Comb!
This card also fits the criteria for 2 other MFW challenges - All that Glitters is Gold and the Metal, Wood and Cork challenge.

The background image is from Kaisercraft and is stamped with metallic gold.
The pink/gold embellishments that look like buttons are made from paper clay, using cake decoration moulds and then coloured with versamark and perfect pearls. The leaves are die-cuts from Memory Box and Impression Obsession. The flowers are made with Memory Box shabby rolled rose die and the metal flower and pearls are from my stash. Whenever I can't decide what colour card to use for the base card, I find that kraft comes to the rescue - gotta love that!!! This is only the second time I've used staples, but it was an epiphany and I hope it works!

My 2nd card is for the latest Muse Card challenge #37 based on a card by Cindy Brumbaugh...

I was quite pleased to use some pieces from my 'unused stash' for this card - the Hero Arts dogwood image  and the embossed card. I got quite a lot of stamped bits and pieces I really must turn it to completed cards!
I hope you like my take - with any luck I might have another go, but we're going to our neglected beach house for a night or 2, which will be a nice break from Nursing Home visits.
