Chalkboard Christmas

There's a new challenge at Less is More and they've challenged us to use the chalkboard technique.  I haven't used that for  years, so I'm up for the challenge. To be honest, the real challenge is making it CAS!

I stamped and white embossed the Stampers Annonymous sentiment and then sponged the edged of the panel with white ink.  In keeping with the 'Less is More' rules, I didn't want to add too many layers, so I drew the holly with Prisma Pencils.

My (not so) Secret Addiction!

Hi there.  I've had a very productive card-making day. I've made a few more DT cards and I've been dabbling in a bit of Mixed Media, trying some techniques I've seen on Youtube.

I recently received the new Speckled Egg Distress Oxide and Distress Glaze Embossing Powders and I can't stop using them! I am so addicted that sometimes I just make a smoohed background, just to look at it!  So you can expect to see lots of Speckled Egg projects in the future:)

As you've probably noticed, I've been making lots of cards during this Covid Madness and I've become a bit bored of creating the 'same old, same old' ! So today I challenged myself to use some old stamps in a new way and to dabble in Mixed media. Here are some of the cards I made...

Made a smooshed background with Speckled Egg DO and dried.
Stamped PB 'Botanical Notes' on 2 corners & embossed with Speckled Egg Distress Glaze EP.
Stamped PB Diamond Pattern Background Stamp in other corners.
Stamped another old PB stamp with script over the diamond pattern.
Stamped PB 'Soft Wings on vellum papewr and embossed with Rose Gold.
Stamped the sentiment from PB 'Banner Sentiments' and mounted with foam tape.
Added sequins and pearls.
I was happy with the look, but in  retrospect, I shouldn'tr have embossed any of the bnackground, as it became a bit to bold.

Inked Kaisercraft stencil with Speckled Egg& Iced Spruce DO ink , spritzed & flipped the stencil over onto the card-stock, ink-side down & then covered the stencil with a piece of paper towel, to soak up excess ink.
When dry, I re-aligned the stencil and sponged Antique Linen DO.
I then sprayed a touch of Altenew gold ink for a bit of shimmer.
Die-cut Sizzix Poinsettia, spritzed with water, scrunched up and dried.
Shape petals with embossing tool and fingers and construct the flower.
Softly spritz poinsettia with Altenew gold spray.
Add pearl brad in centre of flower.
Wiped Delicata gold ink over embossing folder, spritzed and passed through Big shot machine.
Stamp PB 'Banner Sentiments' sentiment and put card together.

Here is another smooshed background card, inspired by the colours in the current Color Throwdown Challenge.

The background was made with Distress Inks and Nuvo Shimmer Powders.  I stamped the flowers and coloured with Zig Markers.
Stamps: Concord & 9th 'Wildflower' & 'Just Because'
Dies: Concord & 9th  'Just Because'

Rainbows

I discovered a new (to me) challenge that looks fun,  Festive Friday, so I made this card..

I made some smooshed and splattered backgrounds with distress inks and Nuvo Shimmer Powder
and then die-cut to make this colourful rainbow.

Three CAS Cards

This card was inspired by the pic at 'Just Us Girls Challenge'.
I love this set and was happy to play with it again. I stamped wit Altenew, Memento and Hero Arts Inks.
I used a die to emboss a frame around the cup and fussy cut the leaves and spoon.
Stamps: The Greetery 'Cozy Cup'.

This card was inspired by the colours at 'Just Add Ink' Challenge.
I used a beautiful Altenew set to stamp the leaves and sentiment using Altenew, Memento and Distress Inks.
The butterfly was coloured with co-ordinating colours of Twinkling H2Os.
Stamps: Altenew 'Leaf Canopy'; Inspired by Stamping 'Butterflies'

Lastly, this card was inspired by the colours at 'CAS Colours & Sketches' and the sketch at 'CAS(E) this Sketch'.

I still had my stamps from The Greetery out and so I was inspired to use this set.  I used Altenew Inks and Fineliners to touch up.

NB: I used the same colour ink to add details to the leaves and flowers, which looked good at the beginning, but after awhile the ink faded and the definition was gone, hence the use of fineliners.

Stamps: The Greetery 'Lemon Blossom'

Embossing Folder: We R Memories

Framed Rainbow and a Grungy Sunflower

I've had some Jane Davenport Paint Pens in my stash for a long time, but shame on me I've never used them. So I thought they'd be fun colours for a rainbow.
I used normal cardstock and I noticed that after a couple of coats of paint it started to pill.  They worked well for the dots  though.
Stamp: Penny Black 'Banner Sentiments'
Dies: Pinkfresh Studios 'Color Block Rainbow'; SSS 'Stitching Butterflies Fluttering By'; Mama Elephant 'Framed Tags'

I'm sharing at these challenge:-

I stamped the sunflower with Delicata Gold Ink and coloured with Zigs and Twinkling H2Os.
The background was stamped with a very pretty yellow embossing powder. In fact it was too pretty, so I decided to grunge it up with various inks and Vintage Photo Distress Stain.  I then embossed the centre of the flower with Copper Tinsel EP.

Stamps: Penny Black 'Sunglow'; Background Stamp (unsure of brand)
Die: SSS sentiment

Snowy Scene

Today, as I was looking for something, I found another box of unfinished creations and I was inspired to finish a few cards.

The mountains and birds had already been stamped and coloured and then it was left incomplete.
Today I added more shading and definition and stamped the trees, sentiment and critters.  To finish, I splattered some 'snow' and framed the scene.

Stamps: Penny Black 'Season's Marvels'; Newton's Nook 'whispering Pines'

Party Time

Hi there. Here's a card I made for a couple of challenges.

I coloured the images with Twinkling H2Os and Zig Markers. The purple dried before I could shade, which is a pity,. Thge T=winkling H2Os are very opaque and are better for bigger images, where you can layer colours.
Stamps: Newton's Nook 'Cocktail Mixer'; Kaisercraft 'Sweet Pea'

Knit Wit

Hi there. I saw the cute pic at the {Pin}spirational Challenge and knew I had to use this stencil...

This is a 3 stencil set and I used 3 shades of blue/green. Then I remembered that the cute penguin set has a knitted cap. The penguin was coloured with Copic Markers.
Stencil: The Greetery 'Knit Wit'
Stamps: Uniquely Creative 'Penguin Pals'
